Holistic care entails considering all aspects that influence patients’ care and the effectiveness of treatment. Significant considerations in this form of care are a patient’s thoughts, care, emotions, and attitudes. Regardless of a patient background, it is crucial to consider the different facets that ensure the care accorded to them positively influences their overall wellbeing ( Zamanzadeh et al., 2015). Creating a rapport with the patients, providing the right environment, and involving patients in the treatment process while considering ways to solve their needs or lessen their severity would be my approach to holistic care.
To treat patients holistically while at the same time being mindful of their needs within 20 minutes, there is a need to focus on the central aspects of treatment. Regardless of the short time available for interaction, holistic treatment would entail respecting the patient’s role and autonomy in treatment. To ensure the significant healthcare provision goals are achieved, I would consider the patient as an individual made up of body, mind, and spirit. While these are aspects that influence their wellbeing, I would also look into their environment and their diverse needs based on their medical history and their social environment. With this knowledge in mind, I would decide the best treatment combination, one that would touch on the patient’s health dynamics.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
Given the short period of contact with the patient, being mindful of their needs would entail encouraging self-care and therapeutic consultation. Most importantly, patient capacity building within the short period of contact would positively impact their vigor, hope, vitality, and social discipline ( Zamanzadeh et al., 2015). The above helps in desirable health promotion within and beyond healthcare facilities.
I will focus on treating patients holistically and considering their needs by developing a rapport with the patients immediately after meeting them. I will also ensure a desirable psychological, emotional and spiritual environment. Most importantly, it will be essential to incorporate the principles of collaborative care into healthcare provision. Particularly, patient-centered care and evidence-based care would ensure a focus on the provision of holistic healthcare to patients.
