Q1

Benner's novice to expert theory outlines the essentiality of quality healthcare provision that is dependent on sound professional background and a multitude of experience in the nursing profession. Benner's informs of the fact that the attainment of competitive expertise in the quality healthcare provision dwells on an affirmative contextualization that cuts across all stages that define the nursing experience. The stages demystified in Benner's theory include novice, advance beginner, competent, proficient, and expert. The novice stage envisages a professional with no experience in the nursing profession and relies on the guidelines to perform specifics tasks of healthcare provision. A professional at the novice stage relies on rules and is perceived as a learner, and this concern denotes the fact that the junior nurse is not entrusted in conducting specific tasks without supervision (Current Nursing, 2011). The novice stage allows a practitioner to conducts general duties. At the advance beginner stage, the healthcare practitioner has gained an acceptable level of experience and has the authority to inform and present a report with meaningful components and facts about the health condition of a patient. Besides, the advance beginner stage outlines the action of a nurse based on his/her behaviors with regards to the execution of professional duties while embracing the principles in the nursing profession.

At the competent stage, a health practitioner is believed to have gained recommendable experience in the nursing profession, particularly, 2-3 years. At this stage, a nurse if fully aware of the long terms goals that drive the sustainability objective of an organization, and this ability is reflected in his/her capability to influence efficiency in an organization. The proficient stage demystifies the capability of a nurse to conceptualize sensitive situations and provide a solution for addressing a health condition with no chance of consultation (Izquierdo et al., 2016). At the proficient stage, a healthcare practitioner is mandated to engage in a holistic decision-making approach to redefining the strategic plans of an organization. The final stage that depicts Benner's theory is the expert stage. At this stage, a nurse does not rely on the professional guidelines and rules to make a decision that influences the performance of an organization. A nurse at the expert stage is believed to be highly proficient and has a conclusive background of experience to initiate and determine clinical actions that reflect on the overall performance of an organization.

Q2

The fact that I am between competent and beginner means that I fall under the category of an advance beginner based on the stages of Benner’s theory. My professional stage developed to an advance beginner stage based on a conclusive understanding of the rules and principles of quality healthcare provision. The fact that at advance beginner stage calls for a comprehensive understanding of both practical knowledge and theory in the books arising from the novice stage means that I heavily relied on the concept of development of knowledge that champions for a thorough mastery of nursing skills and the capability to understand the technique of 'know-how' as an idealistic platform to gaining the requisite experience (Oshvandi et al., 2016). Graduating to the advance beginner dwells on sacrifice and the capability to positively learn from mistakes and the adversities that are experienced in the nursing profession. The need to focus on the value of education as a determinant for quality healthcare provision comes out as a significant platform that enables me to come in terms with the reality that the provision of healthcare services is not dependent on abstract ideologies, but rather authentic principles that are driven by a multitude of experience.

Q3

My plans for professional growth are heavily dependent on Benner’s theory. The fact that I am at an advance beginner stage means that I have an uphill task of gathering the requisite professional competency in a bid to finally reach the expert stage. For instance, I intend to rely on the healthcare principles and guidelines conceptualized at the novice and at the advance beginner stage to enable me shape up my experience and critical thinking as a paradigm towards the understanding of the sustainable objectives that are required in the provision of quality healthcare (Izquierdo et al., 2016). Healthcare policies, principles, and guidelines will enable me to develop an overarching approach towards the conceptualization of effective decision-making techniques that reflects on the overall performance of the entire healthcare sector. My second plan shall dwell on the adoption of a collaborative culture, and this entails honing up my kills to identify the right professionals (Ozdemir, 2019). The professionals, especially the experts in the healthcare sector, shall enlighten me about the necessity of applying the philosophical standpoint of 'know-how' in a bid to make affirmative decisions that will reflect on my understanding and determination clinical situation that improves the general healthcare of the society.

Given the context outlined in the Current Nursing (2011), experts are believed to be quite flexible and can make a determination of a healthcare situation and condition without consultations. Hence, my engagement with the experts shall accord me a solid foundation to connect situations and pass through all stages of Benner's theory all the way to the expert level. My third and final plan that shall enhance my positivistic view and accomplishing of all stages in Benner’s theory shall be to embrace the ideology of universal humanly lived experience that perceives the healthcare profession as a platform of exploring and finding the need to advise and inform the humanity to be hopeful in living quality healthcare under the guidance of medical experts.
