Vaccination has both negative and positives effects on human body. This has led to a heated debate on whether children should be vaccinated. Protection of the children against disease such as flue and measles are some of the points cited by the supporters of vaccination. On the other hand, side effects such as severe sickness are some of the issues associated with immunization which are pointed out by those who are against vaccines. Vaccination means introducing a pathogen in the immunity system of an individual with the intention of making the person develop an immunity to the pathogen without having developed or experience any symptom of a disease caused by the introduced pathogen. How does the vaccine work? "A killed, inactivated or a portion of a pathogen (virus, bacteria, etc.) is injected into the body to get the immune system to recognize it, but since the pathogen is inactivated, it should not cause the disease." In this article, there is a critical question on vaccines which have been answered. The article majors on the pros and cons of vaccines. The effect of the vaccine on the immune and lymphatic system also is given consideration. Further, the article will analyses why some people still get sick even after vaccination, and why other vaccines need boosters.

Describe two (2) pros and two (2) cons of vaccines.

Vaccination is critical to human health due to the protection it gives to the body against dangerous conditions such as measles. Those who support vaccination for their children cite different merits of this process. First, vaccines protect children against immunizable condition such as measles and polio. The statistics which certify the importance of vaccine are numerous, and it has been proven beyond doubt that with vaccination, children are safe from such disease. Secondly, it has been proven that negative or adverse reaction on the body after receiving either oral or injectable vaccine are very minimal. Also, vaccination provides long-term protection against diseases. This makes it very critical for the children and adults. Further, vaccines are cost-effective. They don't only save lives of people but also save people from the economic burden of diseases. There is number of vaccines which are administered for free. However, their impact on the body saves a lot of funds which could have been used to treat such conditions in case they were to attack the body.

Those who are against vaccines cites some cons that are associated with it. First, vaccines are sometimes associated with mild to severe reactions which cause illness mostly in children. This has indicated fear among parents. Further, some vaccines are associated with fever. This sometimes worsens off, and the victim has to be attended to by medical personnel ( Fletcher & Schrager, 2016). The last con is that vaccine is not a medicine. The vaccine does not eradicate diseases but only prevent it. In many occasion, it has been pointed out that there is some instance where vaccines fail to prevent disease and this makes it even more inconvenient.

Effects of immunizations on lymphatic system and immune system

There are some ways through which immunization affect the lymph system in the human body. The lymphatic system in the human body plays a crucial role in defense against illness caused by different pathogens in the body. The lymphatic system is a composition of the lymph node, limps vessels, and other organs. The organs in this system include spleen, bone marrow, and much more. It is the bone marrow which aids in the production of lymphocytes cells such as the T cells and the B cells which are affected by the vaccinations. The T cells and the B cells are directly affected by the vaccination since vaccination increase their number in the body.

Through immunization, the immune system of the body gets activated through the production of the memory cells in the body. Further, immunization acts on the lymph system by activating the production of different cells such as the T cells and the B cells. The T cells and the B cells from the Lymphatic system are critical in defense against condition caused by different pathogens in the body. Through this process, the cells in the lymphatic system are thus increased and thus increases the immunity of an individual.

Reason why some vaccines diminish over time and require boosters or additional immunizations and examples of such vaccines

There are some reasons why some vaccines get depleted, and a booster is thus necessary. There is some disease which is more resilient than others. Vaccines can lose the antibody which was introduced into the body, and this leaves the body open for such resilient conditions. This makes it necessary to have boosters. The boosters aid the body in maintaining the body immunity. " Researchers have suggested that the persistence of immunity against a particular disease may depend on the speed with which that disease typically progresses through the body. If the disease progresses very rapidly, the immune system's memory response may not be able to respond quickly enough to prevent infection unless they have been boosted by the vaccine again.” Based on this reason, it is critical to have boosters for some particular vaccines. Some conditions which need a booster for their vaccines include the measles, Mumps and Rubella. There are several vaccines which need boosters. Examples include Yellow fever, Meningitis, Hepatitis A, and much more.

Some people reported being ill after being vaccinated. What is happening to their immune system?

Vaccines are not perfect, and thus sometime, people may feel sick even after a vaccine has been administered. In many cases, some immune system doesn't respond to the vaccines in the body. Alternatively, there is an instance where the vaccines lose their potency in the human body and thus, discomfort occurs. Further, it is worth noting that vaccines provide protection to the body but, they don’t cure diseases. They decrease the severity of the conditions or their causes. In this case, there are instances where such disease may still have effects even after a successful vaccination has taken place. A good example, in this case, is the Bacilli Calmette-Guérin (BCG) vaccination against Tuberculosis. This is one vaccine which only reduces the severity of the Tuberculosis but does not protect the children fully from it. In this case, there is potential for some mild infection of TB even after vaccination.

Opinion

Vaccines are very critical to human being due to the protection they offer to the body against pathogenic conditions. Based on the numerous advantages attributed to vaccines, it is critical for parents to ensure that their children are vaccinated. Statistics have proven that vaccines aids in the prevention of a killer condition such as measles. Even though it has some mild effect on some children, it should be administered to all children. The fact is that at some time, there are instances where vaccination overreacts in other people's body system. However, these are not solid facts which can be used to disregards the important role vaccine has played in the populace ( Salmon et al., 2015). All children need protection against pathogenic conditions. The solution is vaccines. It should be administered to every child to reduce child mortality in the world.
