Video games might just influence behavior problems among teenagers. Technology has been a key player in the video gaming and overall entertainment. The video games practiced by teens and youths have grown to be practical in nature.  The main form of video games enjoyed widely by teens is those that reflect the use of violence and killing of enemies. Technological companies go to higher heights to introduce more violent in nature types of gaming because these types of game are deemed interesting by teens. These video games probably have a large influence on teenager’s behavior. They provoke the teens to act in a violent manner and try to copy what they see and what they play in such video games.  Due to their addictive nature, teens spend a whole lot of time in such video games. The more time they spend playing the more it gets into their mind that they can practice such violence in real life; thereby their behavior is greatly affected.

Video games like grand theft, manhunt .and modern warfare are an example of video games that can easily mislead the young people. Due to their gullible nature, the teens may be induced to try to practice what they play in such video games in a practical way. Negative behavior can be associated with students who spend their time on the internet; it can be on games, it can be via online platforms and many more. Psychologists have warned parents to limit the time their children spend on video games and the internet in general because they warn that children will develop many negative behaviors. These video games cause them to be violent, they become self-centered and they exhibit instant gratification. Most parents agree that to some extent their children’s behavior has changed because they spend much time playing video games (Exelmans, Custers, & Bulck, 2015).

Violent video games are an increasing trend in the modern day society. Teens and youths are some of the target population that video games developers target. The developers tend to make the video games more violent, it attracts more teens. Violent video games lead to antisocial behavior in children, children grow to become antisocial and psychic. Individual behaviors are often picked up by engaging in such kind of games. The violent video games may influence negative behaviors in schools and around the environment; children may end up being school bullies and an increase in juvenile delinquents. A person can easily predict the past life of a school bully (Holtz & Appel, 2011).

Physical aggression can be linked up to violent video games, video games like the shooter, the main theme is violence and crime and it might influence the behavior of a child or a youth. Poor communications between parents and adolescents can lead to adolescents and youths spending all their time playing video games and using the internet. When adolescents and teens see some of the negative behaviors done in video games without consequences and severe punishments, they obviously want to experiment on that to an individual property or on a person. The negative behaviors can escalate with practicing and using the video games more often. The teens slowly pick a behavior of aggression and sometimes they can try to bully others. School bullying cases has risen in the past due to cause like practice of violent video games (Bandura, 1961).

Internet media and other media platforms are some of the influential models that are surrounded by children in the modern day society. These medium have demonstrated to children that consequences do not exist to negative behaviors. When children see that, by practicing negative behaviors their actions cannot be held responsible, they try it out without fear. Children observe and imitate what they see in those video games, the too violent video games are an increasing trend in the modern day society.

Exposure to violent behaviors has been always a major risk to the social behaviors of a teen. Easy availability and accessibility of violent video games have promoted negative behaviors among teenagers in the society. It is understood that children will always pick up a negative behavior form the video game they play. , for example, is a negative behavior picked up by violent media showcasing where the villain of the story tries to bully his friends and the story lets the villain walk away free. It is a large percentage of video games that contain negative behaviors and out of the whole population of the entire nation, a big percentage of some children will definitely pick up some negative behaviors. Child behavior is commonly picked up from the surroundings he/she is raised ( Milani et al., 2015 ).

Tolerance level in their system rises and they only get satisfaction by trying out the practices they see in such violent video games. Work-related issues have made parents spend less time at home and more time in their workplaces. Due to this factor, children will get an excuse to spend more time playing video gaming and practicing the same in real life. They will tend to pay more attention to the behavior and later encode the behavior they have observed.

However, it is not always right to blame a child’s negative behavior on the internet. To some extent, video games do not cause behavioral problems. It is a person’s choice to have certain traits and portray some behavior. In recent years, the number of video games in the market has gone up and the crime rate among teens has decreased. Video games are a way of having fun in a virtual and fictional world. It is nearly impossible for a perfectly well raised child to pick up some negative behaviors from video games and practice it in the real world. It has been elaborated that teenagers play the video games for fun to try to release their stress, pressure, and frustrations. Behavior changes from a teen come down to poor parenting skills. Parents have neglected their children in their past, not assigning time to listen and care for their children. These may influence the behaviors of teenagers. The society in these times have some aspects of violence and negative behaviors attached to it, television shows, cartoon shows that children like to watch, the day to day life. All those aspects have negative behaviors and some violence in them; it is not practical to blame the video games for negative behaviors on teens and youths.  Developers of video games have always warned the children not to practice what they see in real life. Behaviors of violence have been a real issue among teenagers, and this cannot only be blamed on video games but the morality of the society as a whole. Video games have shown to improve critical thinking skills among children. Poor parenting skills are the major reason why teens and youths portray negative behaviors. Parents do not teach their children good morals and the way they can coexist in the society.

In conclusion spending, lots of time playing video games can cause many negative effects on a child’s growth. Video games can lead to addiction, they can lead to poor social skills, they can also cause obesity, aggressive behavior can be developed and sleep disorders may start to display. Video games should be practiced with moderation; parents need to limit the amount of time their children spend on such video games.
