The future of a project is determined by the ability to solve any current crisis within an organization and develop appropriate communication techniques that are necessary to potential disputes within an organization. The implementation of proper communication techniques in an organization helps in promoting social cohesion in an organization and provides an avenue for growth and development of a given project (Le Nguyen, H., & Larimo, 2011). As the project manager for Advancement Corporation, my primary role is to develop communication techniques among the executive director of research and development and the executive director of sales to solve the personnel crisis among them to enhance the vision of the given project. The following report will focus on providing possible solutions to solve the conflict arising between the two directors and develop communication techniques that will provide a platform for identifying and resolving such conflicts in future. The report will provide some questions to be addressed to the directors in an interview to understand the nature and source of a dispute arising between them.

What is the primary source of conflict?
What are your goals and objectives?
What are your concerns regarding the goals and objectives of the two departments?
Is there a relationship between the nature of goals and objectives set within the departments and arising from conflicts? If yes how do the two relate?
What are some of the external and internal factors within the organization that contribute to such personnel crisis?
Are there strategies that you have implemented individually to deal with the crisis?
What are some of the communication techniques that can be implemented to deal with the future crisis in the organization?
What are some of the individual contributions that may help in dealing with conflict within the departments?
Is decision making the process an issue that requires being addressed given the nature of conflict?
Are there measures that could be implemented to avoid conflicts in future and enhance positive relations within various departments in the organization?
To address the conflicts between the two directors, it is necessary to implement some strategies and communication techniques that will help in providing an avenue for the directors to identify the critical issues contributing to the conflict. The first significant strategy to implement to overcome conflict is collaboration. Collaboration is an essential element that helps in integrating ideas from the conflicting parties to make decisions that are necessary to deal with a particular issue in the organization (Rahim, 2017). In this case, the executive director of research and development and the executive director of sales are required to collaborate to deal with the central issue concerning execution of various roles in the organization. The second conflict management strategy would involve accommodating of ideas from different parties. Although accommodating strategy focuses on providing the opposing sides with their demands to avoid conflict, the strategy helps in reasoning out arguments from the opposing sides (Papenhausen, C., & Parayitam, 2015). The communication techniques that would be necessary to solve the conflict would involve actively listening and focusing on I-statements. The techniques are critical in solving conflicts in an organization considering the conflicting parties are in a position to reason out and listen to ideas from other parties (Sharma, H., & Mehta, 2017). In a situation where the two directors are in a position to actively listen to one another based on their arguments concerning their issues, the issue of conflict will be avoided.
To communicate these management strategies that would help in dealing with conflicts among the directors, it is necessary to schedule a meeting with the directors and discuss the main issues regarding the personnel crisis. The main agenda for the meeting would be conflict and conflict management techniques. The meeting will focus on providing the directors with an avenue to discuss the issues within the organization that contributes to such conflict. The meeting will be more of a discussion that I will allow the department heads to present their issues concerning the nature of conflict among them. Additionally, the meeting will focus on developing goals and objectives that will be used in solving conflict within the two departments. The set goals will focus on enhancing the success of the project and result in the overall success of the company. The first goal concerns reconciliation of ideas concerning different roles in the organization. The second goal will involve the establishment of communication channels and techniques to solve conflict within the departments. The overall success of the project will be an appropriate tool to measure the degree of achievement of the set goals and objectives since the success if the project involves positive measures to deal with the conflict and establishment of communication channels.
