In most cases, people think sitting, kneeling, or standing with God is the only way to be in communion with God. However, it is important to note that we need to be in communion with God even when doing other things such as relaxing, working, exercising, eating etc. Genesis 5:24; 6:9) tells us that both Enoch and Noah did not only sit, kneel or stand with God, but also walked with God in their life (Sorge, 2010). As airmen, most of our life is spend flying in the air with a man-made machine that can fail any time. It is important to note that God is our senior pilot and the only non-failing pillar we can walk with always to reach our destinations safely.

As a pilot, sometimes we fly over remote areas where weather is sour such that you cannot find a safe landing place. This is the time when one realizes pilots can die any time and thus, for one to have a taste of eternal life, h/she needs to maintain a relationship with God always (Bowers, n.d.). However, this career can distract me from having a strong relationship with God due to its time consuming nature. It requires that most of times is spent on the work and thus no much time to pray, worship and sing for the God.

Believers in the aviation industry should come together to promote our relationship with God. This can be done by seeking to work with other organizations that promote prayers and spiritual gains in aviation industry such as the MAF. Through this team, one can participate in biblical reflections and prayers within communities which will enhance their relationship with God ( www.maf-uk.org ).

Sometimes as pilots we rely so much on our instincts and the set procedures for our career but end up encountering crushes. Developing a strong relationship with God through reading his word often can be our strongest safety (Challies, 2012). The word of God is the instrument that can always guide us and reassure us even when the fog is heavy, when our path is dark, when the engines have stopped and when we don’t know whether we are going up or down.
