Currently, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) prevalence among soldiers in the United States is two to nineteen percent with lifetime PTSD among the same individuals ranging from six to thirty-nine percent. The issue, in this case, is about the state of the mental status of the soldiers after combat. According to the statistic, the post-stress disorder among these individuals is high because of the different traumatic events and scenes they witness during their careers. In the end, traumatic events lead to different mental challenges among them ( Bergman et al., 2019). The matter, in this case, concerns soldiers because of the many traumatic events they witness during their careers as combatants.

The mental issues among veterans is a global matter. It affects soldiers who have had instances where they have to witness traumatic events and scenes such as the death of their friends and enemies and injuries, all of which culminate in mental pressure and psychological stress. At the local level, it affects different families when they have to deal with the mental issue of their breadwinners ( Stanley et al., 2019). Further, the cost of care for such people is also expensive for both families and the country. The causes of this matter originate from witnessing traumatic events.

The government, through its healthcare sector, has the mandate to institute care institutions that these soldiers should be taken care of after they leave the battleground. Further, the soldiers should also have the mandate to engage in psychological therapies to reduce the instance of mental issues. The consequences of war deterioratiates the soldiers’ health. Another consequence is economic pressures for the families of those involved, and the government as a whole ( Bergman et al., 2019). The matter is yet to be solved. However, the government, through different healthcare bodies, strives to cater to the healthcare of different soldiers after the battle. The government has partnered with various doctors and psychologists in addition to different therapists who have the expertise to engage the soldiers in mental therapies after they arrive from a military mission. Such intervention is expected to reduce the prevalence of psychological issues among the soldiers.
