Nurses are only human and I happen to be no exception hence my human characteristics will also come into play both in my work as a nurse and also in the instant project, more so during the presentation. The project entails seeking to improve patient education by me and my fellow nurses specifically for homecare regarding Diabetes Miletus (DM), which is fundamental to DM management (Powers et al., 2017). My main strength happens to be relentlessness while my main weakness lies in the fact that English is my second language. I will need to augment my strength and diminish my weakness in order to communicate better in my project presentations.
Strength and Weakness
When it comes to presentations, my main strength is persistence based on an unyielding yearning to achieve my goals. Failure has never been an option for me and even in the presentation, I will keep going until I am well understood. My primary weakness lies in the fact that English is not my first language. Whereas I have taken time to master the language, I am yet to overcome the anxiety that I might make a mistake or make a fool out of myself.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
I intend to use my strength to overcome my weakness. The desire to always succeed that drives my persistence will also be the drive to overcome my fear of making mistakes. In the case I do make a mistake, my persistence will come in handy as I seek to remedy the damage caused by the mistake. This is important since communication is integral to the success of my project. Proper communication involves both the message and how it is presented (Moreland et al., 2016). Teaching DM patients is part of care which is interpersonal in nature, hence cannot be enforced (Borges et al., 2017). My colleagues need to be convinced that the project is right so that they can willingly participate in it.
Conclusion
I am willing to face my personality so as to improve the chances of the success of my project. On the one hand, I have the asset of persistence while on the other I have the liability of anxiety as English is my second language. I will use my persistence to overcome the language issue during my presentation.
