After watching the film, "Poverty in Chicago" Documentary Program, the major points noted revolve around ways through which the poverty, homelessness, and prevalence of drugs among the afflicted individuals affects their overall wellbeing and performance in the society. It also reviews the poor lifestyles that the people in the streets undergo on a daily basis. Regarding the moral/ethical issues addressed, they entail loss of life among the people living in the streets due to the lack of concern among the leaders of the society (Schodorf Media Creative, 2009). On my reaction to the issues in the film, I would argue that the neglect by the leaders of Chicago is the major force behind the drug abuse epidemic in the area.

In my case, I would argue that the major reason behind the large gap between the rich and the poorest in the society is due to the growing concentration of political power among the financial as well as corporate elite, which influence the rules that govern ways through which the economy works. Of the presented issues, they were presented in an unbiased manner. This is because the interviewees were leaders in the society as opposed to focusing attention of the persons affected by the drug menace in the society. Furthermore, the film concentrated mostly on men, which did not reflect the actual problem in the society. As such, the facts would not be said to rely solely on opinion or facts (Schodorf Media Creative, 2009). Nevertheless, the producer appeared to have underlying agenda, which entailed the worsening drug issue in Chicago.

On the moral/ethical response to the identified issue, it should revolve around focusing on assisting the people in the society to earn a decent living through programs, such as employment and social services to the poor (Schodorf Media Creative, 2009). In this sense, a need prevails for intervening to address the worsening drug problem to ensure that the entire society remains healthy and productive.
