The McDonaldization was the most interesting concept throughout the course. It paints a picture of machines and technology taking over. Regardless of having low-quality products, the success of McDonald's is amazingly unmatched. The company seems to also focus on the provision of services fast as opposed to focusing much on the provision of quality services. The need for fast and easily accessible products is what society seems to push for in the market. These effects are also noted among the households where the writer points to increase access to fast food like products. No one is interested in quality rather fast and easy to process food products. This is a term that has been used to refer to the process of technology being used to access semi-prepared food products that would easily be consumed. The influence of such technology on food products has been experienced not only in fast food centers but also airlines, and even similar products at home. The army proposed to have such products at their base. It would appear that the goal of dominating the world with McDonald products has been achieved.

2.

Technology is the application of scientific knowledge in the execution of practical and everyday functions. These processes could entail the application of a system that purposely simplifies a process. Technological changes have, therefore, influenced the speed of how different functions are conducted. Were it not for technology the speed of travel would not have been improved through the construction of vehicles of airplanes. Technology has made it much easy for communication between two or more individuals to take place. People can now talk at different ends of the world with much easy. In a way, technology has made every aspect of the modern life much easier and faster. Technology is only as a result of cultural and social needs. The need for travel fast is solved by technology. The need for easy and faster and cheaper communication is a society and cultural need that technology provides the solutions. Ideally, culture, society, and technology are interrelated. The third world country seems to suffer most when it comes to technology. This is because they get to have a low quality already used technology. It would appear that the third world becomes the dumping site for technology that has already been replaced.

3.

It is not true that the third world is a dumping site for the discarded technology. The world trade organization having foreseen the possibility of this happening has already put laws in place to ensure this is not happening. Steep penalties would be given for those found guilty of engaging in dumping technological products in third world countries. Although the rules do dictate that it is a crime some technology still makes their way to the countries in question. Technology is benefiting everyone in the world and its effects cannot be summarized as being more beneficial to only third world countries. The cultural and societal erosions that have been as a result of technology cannot also be disputed. There are benefits that have taken the world by large leaps but they have also affected cultural harmony. When pointing out the Macdonald theory of how society seems to be moving towards doing away with proper meals as one of the cultural effects. Technology should be praised but there needs to be checks and balances in place to control its negative effects.
