Most people know that contracts are formed either orally or through writing ( Saxena, 2008). However, people in most cases do not take into consideration the factors that make a contract valid. For a contract to be valid there needs to be an offer that is made by one person and the other individual needs to accept the offer ( Van, 2013). The offer can either be expressed or implied from the conduct of an individual. However, other factors also need to be considered such as the fact that acceptance needs to be communicated either orally, in writing, or through the conduct of individuals. However, silence or inaction is not adequate to institute an acceptance. In addition, in cases where an offer has been made and the other individual replies using another offer then the first offer is revoked. When all the factors have been considered and acceptance has been made then the contract becomes legally binding (Sammons, 2017). Non-fulfillment of the terms will result in a breach of contract. From this topic, it is evident that students are able to learn a lot that would be helpful in the business world.

Importance of Participating in Discussions
Participating in classroom discussions was vital to understanding the subject matter because it helped in developing an interest in the topic. It is often difficult to stay focused and be attentive when all that can be heard is the professor talking. It becomes useful to hear the voice of other students when they give their point of view and answers. Participation also helped in creating students’’ engagement in the topic because the discussion increased interest and made us wonder why something is argued the way they are and became a motivation in terms of connecting with the content. The benefit became more apparent when the teacher played a bit with the questions by repeating them and writing them on board.
Participating in the discussion was also useful in understanding the subject matter because it provided me with feedback. In cases where the teacher was asking questions or my input in the topic, I was able to determine vital aspects of some information or ideas. Finally, participating in discussions helped me improve my understanding because it promoted preparation. In cases where the instructor asked questions regarding the assigned reading or what was discussed in the previous class, I was able to be prepared. The process has made everything in the course clear.
Approaches that Yield Additional Valuable Information
Other approaches that could have yielded more valuable information include encouraging research that is outside the course resources. This strategy can help in getting more information that ensures a better understanding of the topic. The other approach is offering rewards which are a tool that will encourage students to participate in class and offer their ideas. The strategy often acts as a motivation to the students.
Conclusion
Generally, the course on contract management has proven to be useful in real life situation and will be beneficial in the future. Student participation was a crucial strategy that helped in increasing my level of understanding because I was encouraged to read ahead and ask questions in areas where I did not understand.
