Section 1

Interprofessional collaboration is the process whereby a team of health providers partners together with a client in the sharing of decisions on various issues using a participatory collaborative and coordinated approach (Bridges et al., 2011). To achieve the stated goals of the organization as well as improving on the quality aspect, interprofessional collaboration is an essential strength to have as a health worker.

There are various interprofessional collaborative competencies that one needs to have. One of them is ethics or values for interprofessional practice (Schmitt et al., 2011). An environment of mutual respect and shared principles is a good one. Another practice is to make sure you use your knowledge and that of other employees to discharge your roles and responsibilities fully. Also, interprofessional communication is essential (Havyer et al., (2016). Let the way you communicate support and maintain the positive team approach. Additionally, make sure you perform tasks as a team and embrace the art of teamwork.

Section 2

In the healthcare system, the efforts and roles played by nurses can never go unnoticed. The nurses ensure that all the patients across all hospitals in the nation get proper medical care to aid them towards recovery (DPE, 2019). Various hospitals should ensure that there is a safe staffing practice to improve the outcome of patient care. Improving registered nurse staffing in hospitals is the primary strategic plan.

Nurse staffing is a sensitive issue with some barriers often associated with the recruiting process (Driscoll et al., 2018). The only barriers that have proved hard to me are the inability to effectively recruit as well as the need for strategies to mitigate and improve the process of hiring. When addressing these barriers is by making sure that the recruitment process is purely based on merit (Dabney, Kalisch, 2015). Also, I can pick some senior health workers to help make various decisions with regards to the hiring process.
