Tesla Company

Many organizations are now considering technological innovation as a significant element of long-term survival and success. In recent years, organizations have recognized that digital innovation provides competitive advantages in the current world. The technological innovation process involves implementing and inventing ideas, procedures, and techniques to perform tasks and produce reliable services and products effectively. Tesla utilizes technological innovation to create new products and has promoted the technological evolution of electric vehicles. The ability to transform technical and scientific knowledge into perceived or actual needs makes Tesla Inc. an ideal environment to work in. Tesla company provides opportunities for technological advancements in the automobile industry and creative work conditions to improve innovations. Besides, the company encourages a positive work attitude despite the primary challenges experienced in organizations.

The world’s largest electric car manufacturer, Tesla, created business environments favorable to technological advancements through successful invention and innovative strategies. The company has revolutionized the automotive industry by introducing tech dimensions to cars. Tesla established the world's first organization that solely focused on designing, developing, producing, and selling all-electric cars (IBS Americas, 2020). Besides, the company has invested in manufacturing, installing, and maintaining solar energy systems. The salary for a software engineer at Tesla ranges between $116,000 and $184,000 annually, 16% more than the national average wage (Kolakowski, 2021). The company drives the increase in business benefits by improving cost management, developing robust production pipelines, and expanding production capabilities.

Driving Forces that Shape Tesla Inc.

Innovation and digital advancement are the driving forces for Tesla. In 2017, Tesla Company had a lower global market in China and Europe despite the company's Model X and Model S cars taking 45% of the electric vehicle market in the US. However, Tesla officially introduced manufacturing factories in the Chinese market in Shanghai in 2018. Tesla's digital advancements facilitated the development of EVs in China, Europe, and globally at large. Liu (2020) claims that Tesla's profit increased dramatically in 2020 compared to 2019, promoting the company's net income rate. Due to the increase in net revenue generated from electric cars' sales and mass production, Tesla surpasses the average liquidity rate due to increased financial performance. Therefore, through innovation, Tesla has managed to become a global giant in electric car manufacturing.

Additionally, governmental regulation and politics influence the promotion and improvement of the electric car market, leading to the growth of the international market. Gasoline-powered vehicles depend on internal combustion to produce power that causes environmental pollution. However, countries such as China, the US, and European countries have implemented regulations and laws to reduce environmental pollution. Therefore, Tesla Inc. pioneered the manufacturing of EVs globally, making it an ideal company for creative and innovative personalities.

Besides, diversity, inclusion, and equity in the workforce act as driving forces for Tesla, especially in attracting highly qualified individuals. Tesla focuses on improving diversity, inclusion, and equity in its workforce. The company values talented personalities at all career and experience levels who passionately observe the organization's mission. The promotion of equitable practices among the workforce contributes to the organizational environment by promoting fairness among the members leading to worker autonomy. Tesla Inc leverages the differences among the communities in the organization to create the most innovative services and products globally. Moreover, the corporation includes underrepresented societies by ensuring that the culture is diversified, inclusive, collaborative, and driven. Tesla Inc. uses a data-driven and people-first approach to promote inclusion and diversity in the factories and businesses. Hispanic, African Americans, Asians, Native Americans, and Latinx communities are underrepresented in the US corporate world. However, Tesla diversifies culture representation in the organizational structure of the company, including corporate leadership.

The ethical evaluation of Tesla Inc. is that the organization positively impacts the world by reducing the number of toxins and chemicals released in the atmosphere to save the environment. However, self-driving vehicles such as Model X will cause social impacts by killing driving jobs and cab companies, eliminating the need for these organizations. Besides, it will influence other car manufacturing factories and companies, making them migrate to electric cars or introduce new digital technology in the manufacturing industry. Nonetheless, Tesla has opened tons of job opportunities for software engineers, electricians, technical architectures who design car layout and frames, and mechanics who work on the engines. Ultimately, Tesla Company is experiencing significant success globally due to ethical principles and positive social and business impacts. The co-founders agreed that the fundamental objective was to produce eco-friendlier vehicles and let consumers understand that EVs could modernize the world.

Besides, the quality products like vehicles and batteries have helped make Tesla a global giant. Electric vehicles include trucks, transit buses, cars, and even partially electric-powered tractor-trailers. Three major EV categories include plug-in hybrids, battery vehicles, and fuel cell cars. Technological innovations have gone beyond cars, and now there are electric transit buses (Earthjustice, 2021). The trending transformation into fully electric vehicles has swept across the manufacturing industry, and it involves practical concerns rather than solely depending on the "eco-friendly" concept. The innovation of EVs provides several advantages over ICE cars, including cost-effective cars considering fueling. Li (2018) argues that electric engines utilize approximately 59% - 62% of the stored power while ICEs covert between 17% and 21% of the produced energy. Electric vehicles provide a lower maintenance cost compared to internal combustion engines that require frequent service. ICE has complex and several parts like belts and fluids that need regular replacement to work effectively. However, electric-powered machines do not need regular maintenance like ICEs. Major manufacturing companies are planning to design fully electric cars due to electric vehicles' technical and innovative advantages (Li, 2018). The battery technology and innovation continue to advance as the company introduces more charging stations globally. Therefore, the technical and innovative advances give Tesla Company an advantage over other manufacturing companies.

Company Policies and Practices

Another exciting feature about Tesla Inc is the guiding principles used to promote company practices and policies. Such principles include providing transparency in their strategies to measure the company's goal, identify improvements, and set organizational goals. Besides, the company integrates accountability measures for assessing individual and corporate progress. Tesla focuses on providing sustainable solutions, which design new strategies with equity and diversity and solve digital innovation problems (Furr & Dyer, 2020). Therefore, the company practices and policies are not all about making large profits; it's about promoting innovative ideas that can change the world and improve living standards. The fundamental goal involves bringing new innovative products and achieving significant technological advances (Furr & Dyer, 2020). Elon Musk materializes concepts and puts ideas into physical form, sharing knowledge to help professional and personal development and learning.

Work attitudes provide clues about the commitment levels in organizations and help in solving work-related issues. High tech companies mainly track work attitudes through exit interviews and attitude surveys. Despite Tesla's success, several employees have forwarded discrimination and harassment allegations at Tesla Inc. While the organization disputes the accusations, investors find it challenging to ignore the allegation patterns. The company fired Ms. Vendermeyden in 2017 for “attacking the organization falsely (Sec.gov, 2020).” Ms. Vendermeyden argued that she had experienced discrimination at the Fremont plant. Furthermore, six Hispanic and African American Tesla workers reported racism experienced at Tesla’s Buffalo operation plant. The company has received complaints alleging a hostile and racist work environment (Clean Air, 2020). Tesla should acknowledge discrimination and racism, repair harm caused to workers, and end abuse.

Despite the challenges experienced at Tesla, the company provides an overwhelming purpose to accelerate the world's transition towards an advanced digital future with EVs. The company's ability to diversify the workforce, develop technological strategies for changing the manufacturing industry, and promote ethical values make it an ideal organization to work for. Besides, the growing global market and techniques designed to build innovative capital support the organization's vision, thus attracting investors. Ultimately, Tesla Motors has established and revolutionized the electric vehicle industry by providing a creative work environment to its employees.
