In the bid of setting up a business in a particular location, companies have to do some concrete research on the suitability of the site, in order to gain confidence that the industry will thrive in the area. A company that has a facility in my local area is Coca-Cola company which manufactures beverages such as soda. I live in Cleveland which has an estimated population of 350,000. On choosing this location, Coca-Cola must have considered the demography factor which evaluates to the potential customers (Kimelberg & Williams, 2013). In this case, the issue availability of a market for their product was well evaluated. Also, the climatic factor played a role in the choice of the location. That is since this is a hot area with low altitudes, people would need to take some cold beverage to quench their thirst, and soda would be among the choices. Coco-cola being a globally established brand suffers minimal competition from their rival companies. The absence of stiff competition also played a significant role in deciding on setting up a facility within the city.
Other important factors which must have influenced the setting up of business here were; good infrastructure which includes road network and communication service — these ease logistics of the products within the area as well as the communication with other regional facilities. Also, on settling on a location, accompany has to project its vision to oversee future performance, based on the trend. For this reason, Cleveland has a stable trend for the beverage demand thus was a suitable location for the company. Lastly, the most critical factor considered when putting up a multimillion-dollar facility is the security of the area (Kimelberg & Williams, 2013). This is for the safety of the equipment against vandalism and theft which would be costly to the company. Uptown Cleveland is one of the most secure places which prompted the establishment of the company's facility. This also ensures that the business partners deliver their services effectively without insecurity fears.
