Karl Marx is a German philosopher who explored the relationship of a system between the financial providence and the workers in it. The bourgeoisie were the bosses in the system. They ruled and managed the proletariat, who works as the lower class and performs all the labor. Symbolic interactionism on the face to face interactions, functionalism which spells out how different parts of the society adapt, and the conflict theory, which is about sharing the scarce resources, are the three sociological theories on his writings.

(3) Who are the various types of people in a crowd? PROVIDE AN EXAMPLE of all of the different types in a particular crowd. (In other words, at a baseball game...or another setting)

In a crowd, there are super fans, people who attend the event because they are entirely involved in it and are the most interested in the game batch. The other crowd is the average fans that are just concerned with what is taking place and have not invested much in the game. The third crowd is the curious spectators who turn up because they happened to and found themselves there. The insecure is the fourth crowd involving people who come over to belong and to make new encounters, and particularly, they intend to be part of the event. Lastly, the exploiters, are people who turn up for their gain either by selling products or marketing goods and services

(4) How does social class impact a person's life chances? Do sociologists believe that it is relatively easy for an individual to move up the social ladder? Why/why not?

Social class impacts a person’s life chances because of the unequal distribution of opportunities and privileges available. Sociologists believe that it is not easy for one to move up the social ladder due to the discriminatory practices that are based on race, language, gender, religion, and ethnicity. Keeping groups separate from one another because one cannot accommodate the other denies some people the opportunity to get special advantages that cannot be enjoyed by everyone ( Raskoff, 2008) . People experience stereotypes that have shaped their cultural attitudes associated with race, age, and gender .

(5) Sociologists maintain that race, gender, and age are largely socially constructed. What does this mean?

It means that gender, age, and race are understandings about life that people generate themselves and consider them a reality. Well, gender is something that one is born with, but people have different assumptions on how one should behave when one is a man or woman of different color and age ( Raskoff, 2008) . This is because people believe and follow a certain way of life without questioning the surrounding realities. Social assumptions of life are constructed by people who have their understanding of what they consider to be normal.
