The Second World War was the greatest conflict to be witnessed. It was characterized by many battles, including Moscow's battle of 1941-1942 and the battle of Britain of 1940. The battle of Britain was a significant air campaign fought over Southern England. It was a defensive battle fought and won by Britain against the German air force's ruthless raids, Luftwaffe. During World War Two the allies were England, The United States of America, and the Soviet Union. The Axis alliance consisted of Germany, Italy, and Japan. The allies' strategy contributed to this battle as most pilots in the Britain air force were from countries such as France and the United States.

Britain's battle was fought by the Royal Air Force (RAF) fighter command, who had the advantage of superior war equipment, including the best fighter aircraft in the world; the Hawker Hurricane and the Supermarine Spitfire. The British were also lucky to fight against an enemy with no action plan, strategy, or coordination. The German team lacked these as they sometimes launched bombs on civilians, which contributed to their loss in the battle (von Rundstedt, 2016, p. 80). The British team had technical experts on the ground controlling the air team and coordinating the attacks, including aircraft engineers, armorers, and nurses (Sarkar, 2020).

The British won the battle, and although this did not mean that they had won the war, it gave the allies more confidence and hopes of winning world war two. Britain's victory in this battle created conditions fit for their survival in war and the Nazi Germans' eventual defeat. The British triumph also denied the Germans access to the English Channel, which was their main reason for launching the attack. The German's lost many soldiers and aircraft as compared to Britain. The RAF made a significant contribution to world war two.
