Youths play a crucial role in nation-building, which places a magnifying lens on their engagements towards achieving growth and development. The significance of the group makes the rising cases of youth crime in America a concerning issue. The purpose of this paper involves investigating factors that propagate the adverse situation. 

Youths inform an integral unit for nation-building, given they are the propagators of economic growth and development; however, many fall into delinquency owing to lack of integrating moral values and ethics. Young adults have sufficient energy with their prevalence exhibited in entrepreneurship and other economic sectors like sports. The input of youth, therefore, facilitates adequate output for the economy by instigating growth and development. The ideal picture requires focus and level-headedness from the group, which they sometimes fall short of leading to delinquency. It conceptualizes the shaping up of character through instilling moral values and ethics. Such provisions act as a guide to proper behavior whereby their lacking facilitates illegal acts placing young ones on the wrong side of the law. The issue of youth crimes is a concerning issue in American society, especially with the rising juvenile cases drawing a magnifying lens on upbringing, peers, and financial inadequacies.

What factors facilitate youth crime in America? The research entails dependent and independent variables whereby the former includes elements such as criminal activities, drug abuse & violence, and arrogance. On the other hand, the latter entails the lack of communication, gaps concerning suitable training, Broken families, and poverty. The alteration of the independent variables leads to a ripple effect for the dependent variables therein, affecting the general behavior of American youth. For example, youths require proper upbringing, which requires suitable communication and training factoring ethical standards and moral values accepted by society. When properly trained and instructed concerning proper behavior from the elderly, the youth's crime rates would substantially decrease. Furthermore, Brocken families propagate the gaps with a young adult from such homes prone to succumb to drug abuse and violence or arrogance, which propagates crime rates. Lastly, lack of finances may facilitate juvenile crimes whereby a young adult facing tribulations owing to poverty may seek illicit ways of earning a living, such as selling illegal drugs and stealing. 

Review of Literature 

The high rate of crime in the U.S. is a concerning issue for policymakers as it exhibits gaps of upbringing within the American society. According to Unruh et al., local and state entities operate the American juvenile justice system, with approximately more than 70% of the youth detainees aged between 15 and 17 predominantly male (2018). Furthermore, the authors submit that the detained young adults exhibit a disproportionate representation of racial diversity with a decrease experienced given community corrections services (2018). It conceptualizes the element of proper training to instill moral values and ethics. Unruh et al. conclude that there is a need for evidence-based approaches for correcting youthful offenders therein, conceptualizing fidelity target training accompanied by professional development (2018). It magnifies society's role in the upbringing of a young adult requiring proper communication to avoid falling into criminal activities. 

Close relations therein substantially impact behavior among youths, which conceptualizes the role of family and neighborhoods in instilling ideal character. According to Vogel & Maarten, delinquency and impulsivity differ across variating social environments, with the youth living in disadvantaged neighborhoods highly likely to exercise impulsive violence (2018). The authors place a magnifying lens of the development process, which amplifies the role of proper parenthood accompanied by input from the community for proper growth and development. It shows how upbringing factors may facilitate arrogance therein propagate youth engagement in crime. Furthermore, Carter et al. posit that hotspots of criminal activity in Florida are within areas bordering low-income neighborhoods (2019). It conceptualizes the lack of finances that facilitates crime involvement for young adults.
