Prompt 1:
It was wrong for Abram to sleep with Hagar but again God did allow the same to take place as a way of showing His permissive will on the human beings that He created. Abram finds favor with God and God makes promises to him and being human with imperfections a well as free will he decides to make his impatience have a toll on him. He felt that God was slow in fulfilling His promises to him and coupled with the pressure from his own wife Sarah, who at the time was of the view that due to old age she had no capacity to bear a son. Sarah later presents Hagar to Abram and convinces him to sleep with her out of God’s will. This is wrong as Abram as a man of faith ought to guide the wife on how to trust in God. God did not intervene in stopping Abram because He knew that at the appointed time, His word to Abram would come to pass and that Abram and Sarah would still have a child of their own as per His promise to him (Walton, 2007).
Prompt 2:
The “four-room, pillared house,” found in the Epic of Eden reading has a correlation to what Jesus says in John 14:1-2 as it signifies the numerous courtyards available in the ancient Israel houses otherwise known as Father’s house. The four-room pillared house has many rooms just as Jesus says that in His Father’s house are many mansions meaning it is one house but has numerous other houses thus there are houses within a house (Ritcher, 2008).
