They promise to direct hundreds of billions into such initiatives in a bid to support economic growth through trade. There is, however, an acute difference when it comes to acquisition of money to fund such projects. While Democrats aim at borrowing money to accomplish such objectives, Republicans aim at reducing spending on other sectors so as to use such money in infrastructure development.
- Both Hillary and Trump proposed a reduction of tax on middle-class Americans. The above is in a bid to empower them economically. They however differ
- Both of the above leaders do not support profits to be moved overseas. They hence encourage the reinvestment of such profits into the American economy to boost its growth.
- On minimum wage, although Republicans initially said the wages are too high, later on, they proposed an increase, citing that $7.25 an hour is too low. On the other hand, Clinton proposes that it should be increased to $12 an hour.

- On military-related activities in Iraq, Trump was first hesitant about the involvement of the US army. He later supported it, although it was not evident to a large extent. On the other hand, although Hillary initially supported the involvement of the US army in the war, she, later on, opposed an increase in troops and subsequently pushed for withdrawal of the soldiers.
- While Trump is not in support of the passing of new gun laws, Hillary supports the enforcement of strict laws in regards to the handling of guns.
- Trump supports the legalization of marijuana, citing the medicinal value of it as the main reason behind it. On the other hand, Hillary also is in support of the use of marijuana for medical purposes but in extreme situations.
- On abortion, an issue that is central to women’s health care, although Trump initially supported it, he later changed. Now, he cites that abortion should only be carried out when the life of the mother is in danger and when a woman has been subjected to situations such as rape and incest. Hillary Clinton, on the other hand, Hillary supports abortion even in the late stages of fetus development. She also is not in support of withdrawing funding of Planned Parenthood.
