The ‘Starry night’ is recognized as one of the greatest works of Van Gogh’s, and one of the most significant images in modern culture. Drawn during the last period of his life, the brush stroke, the color, how the branches bend, the joining of the sky and the hills, the little village below and the rig lines that interrupt the brush strokes flow, all building up the perfect image. Most interestingly, however, this whole image came from his mind solely making it different from his usual work.
‘ The Persistence of Memory,' by Salvador Dali is a fantasy work just like Van Gogh’s. The most distinct feature of the painting being, the four melting clocks scattered around the painting, perhaps in an attempt to show just how time is so elusive. The art also contains a mysterious white figure, crumbling mountains at the horizon, shadows to contrast between the light and darkness. The painting is seen not to follow any particular pattern.
