The decline of the American education system arises primarily from the lack of reinforcement strategy. The system has lost much of its value and is declining, losing every day to entertainment. Entertainment is both a source of pleasure and education system. The film and music industry producers and marketers have mastered the art of arousing consumer desire and thus increasing the consumption of their content. The viewers are bombarded by the hyped life of the celebrities who keep on winning, and thus the mind of the viewers is molded to appreciate entertainment and desire such a life. Thus, the entertainment industry has succeeded in encoding its message and delivering it to the public through which it has taught pleasure, which is more desirable to humanity. These conditions make entertainment and sport successful, but a lack of them has led to the continual degradation of the academic education systems. While the entertainment and sport have reinforcements such as pleasure, education has been presented to be toilsome and indefinite in its results. Thus, the public has been led to shun books and love microphones and balls.
The society should be re-educated as a strategy to oo uplift the education system from its current state. The government and the society should introduce reinforcements. Education should be presented as a worthy partner and measures are taken to ensure that there are adequate jobs for those who finish schooling. This will present books as a means to an end. The consumption of entertainment products should be regulated. The society needs doctors, plumbers, carpenters, masons, engineers and so on. However, it must not be made to disappear in the shadow of entertainment and sports. Therefore, a regulation of the amount, content, and age exposure to entertainment products should be restricted to a certain age to allow the young minds to develop to the point they can choose well.
