My name is Erickson Todd residing in Chicago where I was born. My parents Andrew and Isabella Todd also live here while working at the family store. They have worked hard to ensure that our family was stable and happy. I was brought up in a normal middle-class environment though was pampered by my parents because I was the only child. However, this took a drastic turn after my parents divorced when I was 11 years old and they both remarried one year later. Sincerely, this affected me psychologically because I felt as if they did not love me anymore. After they divorced and remarried, I lost my sense of belonging because I was mad at both of them.
However, I changed this perception because they both kept me off their divorce. To ensure my well-being they got along at events especially at school and during tours. I stayed with my mom throughout high school. After joining high school, I began experiencing the real distance between my parents and I. Although they pretended to get along when I was present, I could feel that there was a huge gap between them. By the time I was in my final year in high school, I was already in a group of bad friends who predisposed into constant trouble. Soon, my life adopted a negative course though I managed to recognize and correct the situation before a significant damage could occur.

At this point, I decided to stay with my dad, a situation that enabled me to change my friends. After gaining a fresh start, I graduated my high school with no further incidence. Since my childhood, I wanted to be an architect, an idea that my dad supported by taking me to the University of Chicago for a bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
