It is essential that the goals and strategies of a business organization be accorded keen attention. It is recommended that companies incorporate their strategies and goals as part of organizational training. This kind of training should appear in four different phases, namely, the phase of conducting a needs assessment, designing the training program, implementing the training program, and the final phase of evaluation.
The first phase, Conducting Needs Assessment, is one very important stage in conducting training and making it match with the company goals. This stage offers a head start for managers because it is the point where the managers get to know the specific areas that are supposed to be trained upon. A need assessment ensures that a training program is done for a reason and not just for the sake of it. This stage helps identify the specific type of training to give to employees who could be orienting new employees, sales training, basic training on job duties or managerial training (Snell, Bohlander & Morris 2015).

This first phase of designing strategic training involves an analysis of the organization. Specifically, this involves studying the organizational environments against the strategies and goals to see what lacks within the organization to achieve the goals. Conducting a task analysis is yet another step in need identification. Task analysis is the process of revising job description and procedures to see what is done and what could be missing in the job description. The final and the most important stage in need identification is the person analysis. This refers to the actual study of employees, their jobs, and their respective capabilities in various areas. This stage helps identify the actual need in employees because the employees are the people who are set to undergo training and push the organization agenda. The first phase is followed by the second, third, and final phase to develop strategic training.
