I was surprised to learn about the schizoaffective disorder; a condition is rarely known, and how patients affected by it suffer. It moved me to see the challenges they go through, like being socially withdrawn to the point of breaking up with people who love and care for them. Their unusual perceptual experiences of having imaginary thoughts talking to their inner being must be really dangerous because one can never tell what it can direct them to do; they have ideas of having suicidal thoughts. We can help these patients by offering them all the emotional, social, and medical support they need by assuring them that they are rational human beings just like us who can carry on with their day to day roles and that their condition should not in any way bring them down. Being physically present will help them feel loved and cared for. They should not abandon them at any given time.

I think social media contributes to eating disorders because of the time, many people, especially teenagers, spend time on the net. They get influenced by the body image of their peers they interact with online. In most cases, may want to look like them hence affecting their eating lifestyle. To prove this hypothesis, I could carry out a study on ‘How Social Media and Eating Disorders Correlate Especially Among Girls/Women’ ( Mehler & Andersen, 2017, p74).

More women than men experience eating disorders because women tend to be more concerned about their body image, which is not the case in men. It greatly affects their eating lifestyle hence leading to those disorders. Some careers like modeling lead to eating disorders because there is a specific weight that one must not exceed failure to which the model loses her job. Sports activities are a concern because the participants will not want to be heavy and fail to perform well in their favorite games ( Whitbourne & Halgin, 2013, 200) . It will mean that they stick to a certain diet. Treatment of this disorder varies by gender because women are more vulnerable to it than men. It, therefore, needs lots of patience to treat a woman, then it will be in men.
