Summarize and discuss why people in these areas (blue zones) are thought to live longer than other people on earth

People living in blue zone areas tend to live longer compared to other population due to the M26 marker. The M26 marker is defined as the mutation of genes in the Y chromosome (Cadreamer98, 2014) . The M26 marker is dominant in the population living in blue zones compared to residing in other areas. Surprisingly, both men and women have an equivalent life expectancy. However, facts indicate that both gender share stress was affecting the household. The long-life outlook is attributed to the fact they eat a healthy diet compared to other people in different parts of the world. Inhabitants of blue zone areas mainly consist of seasonal meat and homegrown vegetables. The low mortality rate has also been related to the firm faith in religion compared too other regions.

The environment of blue zone areas has played a significant role in increasing the lifespan of natives of these blue zone areas (Cadreamer98, 2014) . The blue zone surroundings enable natives to live an active life. In the blue zone areas, people are motivated to wake up and work hard. Natives have a reason to smile every morning they wake up and go on with their daily chores. Stress in the blue zone regions is almost extinct. Natives residing in the blue areas have designed strategies that assist in maintaining their stress levels. Okinawans have developed a technique of letting their stomach settle after taking a meal (Fastame, Hitchcott, and Penna, 2018). The method helps in maintaining their weight as the technique plays a significant role in preserving tummy growth. The other factor attributing to a long-life span is the priority they give their family. Natives usually put the interests of families first before anything else. The social life of people living in these is played a major role in their lifespan. People who live in blue zone areas enjoy their social life which has played a significant role in their lives. The excellent social life has had the great impact on the health behaviors of natives of these areas. Low alcohol consumption of natives has played a significant role in improving the health of natives which in turn has contributed to a long-life span.

What would you take from what you are learning about the Blue Zones to apply to your future as you age and also to your work with aging people should you do or continue such work in the future?

In the modern society, most individuals are involved in drugs and high alcohol consumption to maintain a healthy life. The best way to increase my lifespan is abstaining from drugs such as cigarettes and other narcotics (Fastame, Hitchcott, and Penna, 2018). On matters surrounding alcohol consumption, the best thing is to consume little amount of alcohol. Drugs tend to decrease the lifespan of individuals as drugs tend to increase the potential risk of acquiring health conditions that may lead to early deaths.

However, in matters concerning health and diet, the modern age tends to possess high consumption of junk food. Junk foods tend to have a high fat and cholesterol levels. In matters regarding my health, the best diet which can maintain my health and the health of aging people is eating healthy food. In the context of eating a healthy date requires me taking a meal that has 80 percent of vegetables. Meat consumption should also be managed to help in the maintenance of weight and health both young and older adults.

Most people in the modern society tend to have no social life or little social life. However, it has been proved how social experience plays a significant role in creating happiness. Happiness manages to create the mood of people. However, it is advisable for young and aging people to build healthy social lives that can assist them in going about their daily activities. On matters regarding family, it is essential to ensure for me and old people to keep their loved ones close to them. Religion should also provide a sense of direction in our lives which help individuals live a healthy life.
