Response #1
The patient can also be administered Metozolv ODT for diabetes apart from metformin. The patient will take 5 mg (5ml) of the drug three times a day before each meal for five days. Metoclopramide hydrochloride is the generic name of Metozolv ODT ( Heyland et al., 2019). The Metoclopramide will enhance the stimulation of the gut motility and affect different receptors in the GI tract. It is used to treat gastroparesis (slow stomach emptying) in people with diabetes .
Potential side effects and drug interactions
The patient may experience many side effects, such as tardive dyskinesia. The patients may also feel nausea, sore throat, irregular heartbeat, headache, irritating skin rash, and vomiting ( Heyland et al., 2019). When used with other drugs, disease interactions such as depression, fluid retention, seizure, and renal dysfunctions are possible.

Non-pharmacological interventions
Different therapies can be used for this treatment. For instance, Body-mind therapies can be critical in this case. Examples include gut-directed hypnotherapy, functional relaxation, mindfulness therapy, and body awareness therapy ( Ronald, 2017).
Education to patient
Provide the doctor with a medical history, such as breast cancer, before taking the drugs. Report to the doctor about any issue with allergic reactions. Do not take alcohol while taking the drug. Use dry hands to handle the drug as it disintegrates faster.
Discussion Response #2
For the case of diabetes mellitus type 2, the patient can also use oxybutynin. The drug is a muscarinic receptor antagonist that is critical in relaxing the bladder muscles. The drug’s brand name is Ditropan XL. In this case, the patient will take 5 mg orally 2 to 3 times a day ( Oxybutynin Dosage Guide with Precautions. (n.d.). It works by raising the amount of metformin the body absorbs, thus lowering the blood sugar .
Potential side effects and drug interactions
The patient may experience dizziness, blurry vision, and dry mouth. When taken in combination with other drugs, the oxybutynin's interaction may cause constipation, trouble sleeping, drowsiness, and the inability to urinate ( Illinois-Chicago, 2018).
Non-pharmacological interventions
There are many non-pharmacological treatment options for patients. For instance, there are situations where surgery is necessary when GU conditions persist. However, physical therapies and laser therapies can also be critical for the patients.
Education to patient
The drug has a lot of harmful side effects, and in case of any discomfort, the dosage should be stopped, and medical advice sorted. The patient should not use alcohol while taking the medication.
