The complexity of nursing makes it more of a vocation than any other career. The long hours of work that requires the highest level of focus and dedication call for nurses to form the habit of taking care of everyone’s health and improving the health standards equitably. Education gained from the right institutions or nursing schools should be aligned with one’s philosophy of nursing to ensure that the student learns more nursing values and understand the roles involved. These issues can be challenging but by evaluating the school’s MSN Program Conceptual Framework, I am convinced that it aligns with my philosophy of nursing and will enhance my competency to perform different roles in the profession and boost my nursing career.

Role of Nurse as Detective

Just as ordinary criminal detectives who have to start investigations on factors before and after the crime, nurses must gain information about the patient before any treatment to determine prior conditions of the patient. The information helps in influencing the different treatment procedures. Communication plays the greatest role, and it is clear that the MSN program identifies it as the first crucial step. The information gained should be used appropriately to ensure confidentiality, and help the patient gain quality healthcare without any complications. I believe that nursing is more of a calling than a job, should be organized to enhance teamwork and reduce miscommunication (Kthomez, 2017).

Experience in the past has taught me that nursing teams are more efficient and reduce medication error which is one of the leading cause of deaths and complications affecting the health sector. The program offers the right framework to boost my abilities in formulating better teams and plans to enhance a quality of healthcare provided to patients. Lastly, the health sector is guided by legal or professional laws, and code of ethics of which are of great significance. The belief that my duty is to save lives guides me to be ethical, but there are times when the laws may seem unethical. The program will help me gain more understanding about such issues for instance, where a person with the right of attorney may be against a given treatment although the health professionals know it would cure the illness.

Role of Nurse as Scientist

The stakes in nursing are higher since any error would lead to loss of life. Different studies have indicated that the best way to improve the quality and well-being of healthcare is by practicing patient-centered care. I believe that patients need to be recognized and educated about different medication to ensure they understand the various medication. Hopelessness is common among patients suffering from a chronic ailment and mental disorders thus nurses should be compassionate when dealing with such and other patients. The need for medication is to improve the wellbeing across the lifespan of the patients, therefore ensuring that evidence-based practice is encouraged ensures this objective is obtained hence the MSN Program encouragement to enable students to be informed and determine the most efficient ways to enable safe and quality healthcare provisions (Kthomez, 2017). The combination of knowledge gained in genomics or genetics is essential in treatment to provide better diagnosis and treatment of the patients.

Role of Nurse as Manager of the Healing Environment

As the MSN Program Conceptual Framework demonstrates, nursing is a broad scope that deals with all people no matter their origin, beliefs, political stands, economic status, or social influences (Kthomez, 2017). I believe that diversity of patients and nurses should not come in the way of enabling provision of quality health care. The program depicts the need of a nurse knowing, doing, and being a member of the inter-professional which aligns perfectly with my philosophy of nursing. Cultural competency, safety, education, and informatics are some of my priorities in enabling quality healthcare (Kthomez, 2017). As a nurse, the ability to communicate and serve actual people with different views about you, medication, or other issues are challenging but learning the different beliefs, and stereotyping factors will simplify the problem. Nursing is changing, and technology is more applicable to improve the sector. I believe that education on recent discoveries or medical issues will enhance my career. In conclusion, the circle of elements demonstrates that there are no better shortcuts in nursing career thus all the roles must be performed either as detective, scientist, and manager of the healing environment to achieve quality healthcare. It ensures this objective is obtained. The combination of knowledge gained in genomics or genetics is essential in treatment to ensure better diagnosis and treatment of the patients.
