Greenstone, Looney & Marks (2012) in their article, focuses mainly on the benefits that Immigration reforms have in America. They fault the duration before the Immigration reforms came into being. Some of the disadvantages which they depict are that the Immigration rules then were limiting the economy of the United States of America. Also, the authors suggest that there was a high demand for labour that could not be met by the American-Born natives. The development of Immigrations reforms, as the authors suggest has significant impacts. Some of the benefits of the Immigration reforms include; Reduced Deficiency, Economic Efficiency, Intellectual Environment, Improvement of the National Security, and Inflow of the Entrepreneurs.

Improvement of the National Security

According to Greenstone, Looney & Marks (2012), they suggest that Immigrations reforms help in enhancing the national security of the America People. For people to move to the United States, it is a requirement for them to have passports and other relevant documents indicating places of their origin. By doing this the government of the United States of America is in a position to know the people that are in the United States of America, this prevents the entry of the people who are not authorized hence minimizing criminal activities. Some of the illegal people regulated include drug dealers and terrorists.

Reduced Deficiency

Greenstone, Looney & Marks (2012) suggest that the immigration reforms which have been established help in reducing the budget deficit. The immigrants that always move there mainly focuses on finding jobs. In the process of doing their jobs and businesses, they pay taxes to the government as it is required by the laws which are established in the United States of America. The taxes that are paid help in offsetting the deficit which is likely to occur in the budget, this results to a budget which has a high amount of money which the government can use to provide services to the Americans. Payment of taxes by the foreigners prevent the government from borrowing excessive loan from the banks.

The inflow of the Entrepreneurs

Greenstone, Looney & Marks (2012) suggest that Immigration reforms help in the inflow of the entrepreneurs in America. Some people have established the fact that the United States is full of opportunities that can be capitalized on. Foreigners who spot such opportunities get permitted to start their business operations. Through the firms which are created by these entrepreneurs, Americans can get jobs; hence the rate of unemployment in the country is reduced. Also, these entrepreneurs aid the US government by contributing towards its GDP and payment of the taxes.

Economic Efficiency

Greenstone, Looney & Marks (2012) support the fact that immigration reforms help in enhancing economic Efficiency. Immigrants move to the United States of America in their bid to look for employment. They often do jobs which cannot be done by the Americans. By the act of doing the jobs which have been offered by the Americans, the immigrants can offset the burden of providers of the labour (Holzer, 2011). Through the jobs that they do, they help in enhancing the growth of the economy of the US. Following the earnings that these people make, they can provide more taxes to the government in the form of income taxes. It is a requirement that for any person employed, he/she should make contributions towards his pensions hence reducing the rate of dependence in the United States of America.

Application

The article provides some important insights on the advantages of the Immigration reforms, but the insights provided do not make me wonder about anything because the main points found in the article are just obvious. One of the insights in the article is that Immigrations reforms help in enhancing economic efficiency because the immigrants act as sources of labour to the companies that need their labour. Also, immigration reforms help in ensuring that national security is provided because the government ensures that the Immigrants have valid documents such as passports hence preventing the entry of illegal group to the economy of the United States of America.
