Karl Marx was a German who focused on social science and eventually came up with communism that was used by countries globally. Karl Marx was a German intellectual communist and an advocate of most German workers during the 19 th century. Being born in Trier, Prussia (Present Germany), Marx did several works, the famous one being “The Communist Manifesto” that set down principles over which communism evolved. Communism, as developed my Marx, is a social organization system that insists on owning of property as a community with the contribution of each person after which the members of the community receive resources according to their needs and ability.

The contribution of Marx to social science was significant especially regarding his struggles between capitalists and workers. He was concerned with how wealth was becoming more concentrated on few capitalists over a huge number of workers hence leading to a revolution aimed at achieving a classless society. For this case, I chose Karl Marx as a social scientist since his works laid a communist foundation that was implemented by more than twenty countries and other popular political leaders such as Mao Tse-tung and V.I. Lenin. According to Bandow (2018), Marx’s writings on the concept theory of the state, social class concept, and materialist conception are still being used even after his death.
Karl Marx had many qualities which could be emulated since he was an intellectual with an aim of changing the world basing on political ideologies. Among his major qualities was individual courage and this helped him argue with governments and capitalists without fear (Jones, 2017). Marx had the courage to focus on his agenda of communism and nothing could deter him to think otherwise. Additionally, Marx was a resilient leader who dared to challenge the norms of society and make his dream of a classless world without wealth gaps become a reality. I would like to emulate both resilience and courage as displayed by Karl Marx in my social science practices since it has already proved to be effective.
I think social scientists should become advocates since it gives them the platform to discuss various policy options, give recommendations and urge people to take action regarding essential matters. However, social scientists should engage in advocacy plans carefully enough not to raise eyebrows concerning their credibility and positions on sensitive issues. I intend to be an advocate since it will give me an opportunity to give advice and recommendations directly to the public.
The concept of objective knowledge is widely discussed by social scientists and it focuses on reflecting real state affairs that are not interfered by personal opinion or preference. To put this perspective to action, social scientists are able to view a particular case study on neutral grounds and judge whether the act is right or wrong (Bandow, 2018). This neutral perspective can be used in eliminating human deficiencies that are mostly inclined towards poor observing capacities. To become one of the best social scientist in this era, I will engage in cutting-edge research that will help in solving social injustices and wealth imbalance not only in this country but also in other countries globally. To achieve this, I plan on acknowledging and making use of the works of other celebrated and well-known social scientists. I also plan on partnering with national and international NGOs to make this project successful. This is will be my vision.

The contribution of Marx to social science was significant regarding his struggles to make communism applicable in society. Resilience and courage displayed by Karl Marx is vital and it should be emulated by social scientists for them to be more successful. Moreover, social scientists should put into practice the concept of objective knowledge and use it to solve social issues.
