My city of residence is Tuscaloosa in western Alabama. The population of Tuscaloosa was 97, 9003. The population has a median age of 28.6 and a male to female ratio of 0.9: 1. About 43% of the families have children and 94.5 speak English. A majority of the population are aged between 19 and 34 years old. The racial composition of Tuscaloosa is 49.5% whites alone, 44.1% blacks alone, and 26.5% Hispanics. Just about 23.7% of the population lives below the poverty line, with limited access to quality health ( Tuscaloosa, AL Demographics Statistics , 2017) .
My target population for the interview and physical assessment comprises of the African Americans. When assessing this group, it is essential to consider the following cross-cultural considerations: (a) cultural self-awareness- the interviewer must consider how personal racial beliefs may impact the health assessment process; (b) relevance to client expectations- the interviewer must be aware of the African American cultural script. These are ideas that the black children are taught regarding their own races and the other races, and they grow up without noticing their programmed outlook on life. The interviewer must try to identify these beliefs and alter personal scripts to match those of the interviewees; (c) establishing trust- African Americans would most likely trust one of their own than a white stranger. It is better to be in the company of someone they can easily relate with.

The predictive factors for adverse health outcomes include unhealthy eating behaviors, limited education, and minority racial disposition. Based on these factors, the opportunity for health promotion to conduct wellness promotion fairs. The health fairs will provide a platform for basic education and preventive information sharing for changes in lifestyle and self-concept. The protective factor of the health of this group is strong supportive social networks. African Americans are more likely to participate in and rely on religious organizations for social support ( Kuklick, 2011) . This presents the opportunity to partner with religious channels in encouraging people to make better health choices.
