Amazons new technological innovation Amazon Go is poised to change the way Amazon operator. It is a venture into a brick and motor, by launching an automated brick and motor store. Although still in experimental stages, this innovation is an automated grocery store without cashiers or a checkout line.
This innovation involves a store that uses networked cameras and sensors that monitor the customers dynamically then automatically bill what they pick in the store through an app on their smartphones (McKay, 2018). Store system can distinguish customers, distinguish similar products, and handle chaos caused by children. It can choose the person to charge when a couple goes shopping. The initiative, which started back in 2016, is now becoming a reality, and if it is successful, it will revolutionize brick and motor retail, especially now that it has acquired Whole Foods, a grocery and food retailer.

The automation will enhance efficiency for shoppers, reduce operating costs by eliminating the huge salary burden retailers bear. It will threaten retail jobs and may bring about classism whereby some shoppers may not be able to shop because they do not have classy phones.
