Planning 

Planning is an essential aspect for managers who focus on ensuring that they build successful and efficient team management in an organization. Operating as a manager in Amzon.com will focus on encouraging employees to work as a team in an attempt of achieving the organizational goals. In achieving the goal, the first step will be creating work schedule where every employee will be aware of their expectations in the organization and ensure that every member is committed to achieving such goals (Rothaermel, 2013). Communicational is also crucial approach for encouraging team workers and it requires continuously updating employees and frontline supervisors about their needs and activities needed implementing operations within the organization. Applying this strategy at Amazon Company ensures that all workers and supervisors at Amazon focus on accomplishing their daily objectives thus increasing their ability to meet organizational goals. 

Building a positive team culture is crucial in ensuring that employees work to meet organization goals. In an attempt of increasing the ability of workers to have a positive team culture at Amazon, there is a need for implementing services such as celebrating birthdays, holidays, and giving overtime payment. Provision of incentives to workers creates a positive team culture where employees feel that their effort and contribution to meeting the company’s objectives is recognized. Team collaboration is a successful way of building a positive team culture because it encourages individuals to work towards achieving a particular set objective. In this case, employees will focus on ensuring that they work towards a common goal thus minimizing challenges capable of reducing the ability to achieving the organizational goals. Creating team collaboration and focusing on meeting organizational goals requires the application of several strategies.

The first approach will be analyzing and getting to know team members in the organization. This process focuses on understanding the specific needs of the employees and implementing incentives based on their interests and those of the organization. This process will also be accompanied by analyzing Amazon’s internal and external environment thus setting achievable goals. For instance, there will be an examination of the market surrounding the company thus deciding the particular duties and tactics that employees need to apply in producing the commodities and services offered to customers. Encouraging a culture of learning among employees will increase the ability of workers to advance their production knowledge for their benefit thus increasing productivity in the Amazon business. 

Organizing 

Organizing is an approach in which an organization establishes task and authority relationships with an objective of increasing the ability of employees to work together. The organizational structure at Amazon operates into three different structures which increase the ability of the business to become the leading business in offering online services (Rothaermel, 2013). The leading structure is the global function-based groups are the strongest characteristic of Amazon which increases the ability of the company to succeed in the global market. The primary objective of this organization is to ensure that there is successful e-commerce operations management in the entire organization. Amazon Company also has a global hierarchy where there are command and authority needed in ensuring that people in society usually have a successful approach in command and authority along vertical lines in the global market. In this structure, senior manager directions affect the operation of all offices across the organization indicating that employees have to adhere to rules and strategies needed in meeting the goals of the company. The primary objective of this structure is to control the entire organizational management control. The geographical organizational structure ensures that groups are based on geographical locations and related business goals. 

The current structure in Amazon has limited flexibility and responsiveness thus calls for a need of changing its operations. The global function-based groups and the global hierarchy characteristics reduce the ability of Amazon to respond to issues and challenges faced by the company at geographical divisions. Though the structure is essential in enabling the company to implement managerial directives, it is evident that there is a need for reducing the dominance of the global function-based structure and hierarchy to increase the viability of the geographically divided structure in the business. As a result, there will be a possibility of encouraging flexibility in the organizational structure by encouraging departmentalization. In an attempt of achieving this objective, there will be a development of regional and local offices where each office is designed to make decisions that affect the operation of that particular department. However, the decisions have to reflect the goals and objectives of global managers. In this case, managers in every department will increase efficiency among workers by making decisions and learning techniques implemented at each department thus increasing productivity. Since workers and employees are categorized according to the duties they perform and the services they offer in the market. 

Staffing 

Staffing covers the entire process of selecting, recruiting, and hiring of members with an objective of ensuring that a manager has the best employees who can operate to meet organizational goals. In the case of Amazon, the first step would involve selecting employees within the organization that is promoted to occupy senior levels in the business. The promotion will be based on accomplishment and contributions that the particular employee has made on the business. Though this will be the case, the positions will be announced and advertised to all workers in the company thus creating a chance for successful applicants to contest for the positions. Interviews will be conducted to select the appropriate candidate and the vacant space will be occupied by hiring from outside the company (Rossman, 2016). The entire process for recruiting for replacing vacant left by promoted or employees who leave the jobs will be conducted in different steps. In the first round, there will be conducting of questions mainly from the operating systems of the company and the hiring management round involving questions related to the projects that the candidate has done whether the organization or by working other companies. 

In this intended application human selection process, it is evident that there is an application of human resource process. For instance, human resource plays an essential role in ensuring that there is a selection of employees with the best profile thus increasing the productivity of the company. Similarly, the selection process seeks to ensure that they select bets workers by conducting an interview in different rounds. Each interview tests the applicants for different skills needed for working effectively in Amazon (Rossman, 2016). In a situation where a successful candidate is selected, there is an implementation of an approach designed to recruit the employees into different functions and systems of the company. Internal promotion of employees into higher positions in the business also reflects the steps followed in the human resource process where there is a focus on maintaining the best workers in the company. Promoting from within the company becomes a viable approach for ensuring that employees with the best profile increase productivity and reduce higher rate of employee turnover thus reducing the adverse effects that may occur in the business. In an attempt of ensuring that there is the maintenance of best talents in the company, it would be helpful to implement incentives such as extract time payment, medical benefits, and performance appraisal among other forms of remunerates that may encourage workers to stay in the company. 

Leading style 

Operating as a manager requires the application of successful leadership skills that encourage employees to feel recognized and actively involved in the decision-making process. In the case of Amazon Company, it is evident that the transformational leadership style will be a successful approach for managing workers to encourage teamwork and achievement of the set objectives. This kind of leadership encourages a leader to work with the team in an attempt to identify the needed change in an organization (Wylie, 2015). In effect, people develop adequate skills required in creating a vision that acts as a guide for achieving the set objectives and goals for the company. Since the decision comes from within the members of the tea, it is undeniable that the employees feel motivated and own the project thus getting committed to ensuring they achieve their set goals. 

Transformational leadership is an appropriate approach which ensures that employees feel recognized in Amazon Company. The hiring process in the company focuses on promoting employees for higher positions and recruiting from outside to feel the gap in the lower positions. Since the process seeks to exploit talents within the organization, implementing transformational leadership increases the ability to create successful leaders. Welcoming ideas and training employees on various implementation mechanisms will increase the ability of the human resource department to produce leaders from within the organization (Noe et al., 2017). This leadership style also leads to positive changes in the company because the involvement of workers in the management process results in decisions made through the contribution of different people thus increasing their ability to make viable and achievable objectives. 

Control measures 

Exercising control in the company requires of mechanisms for monitoring and evaluating the performance of employees at quarterly levels. For instance, there will be consideration of activities such as appraisal program designed to monitor the manner in which employees accomplish their duties and meet the needs of the organization. In this case, there will be measuring of achievements that workers make in the organization and rewarding their performance (Wylie, 2015). In effect, employees will feel motivated and encouraged to perform to the benefit of the business. Incentives will be designed in such a way that they cover all the employees such that there is a promotion of equity among workers. 

This control approach implements the four standards associated with the control system in the business. For instance, the first step deals with the setting of goals that each individual has to achieve. These goals will be reflected in the expectations that every employee should achieve to be able to receive the entitled incentives. For example, the set targets can be a number of sales volumes or clients that an employee serves at a specified period. Selecting the employee who qualifies for a particular incentive of reward also calls for a need of comparing the performance of workers across departments, regions, and also the entire company to evaluate the leading employee in the overall performance of the organization. In this case, the successful performance will be rewarded for achieving their targets while unsuccessful employees will be corrected to focus on their goals. Comparing performance and set standards ensures that there is a transparent criterion for deciding the employee considered to be essential in the business. In effect, there will be categorizing of employees who need to be compensated and those that need to be rewarded.
