The revolution influenced by technology in business is unfathomable. A few centuries ago, the milestones achieved as a result of technological aids could not be foreseen. Several aspects, depending on the market segment that a business is categorized under have been computerized in a bid to improve essentials of businesses such as accuracy, speed as well as efficiency. Moreover, it is it is not astounding that the corporate world has utilized different technological elements to even set up virtual companies, a move that has seen the birth of e-commerce (Friedman, 2005). Businesses that lie in the category mentioned above are largely depended on good, stable technological infrastructure. Failure of a given element in such a business results in not only losses but in extreme circumstances, especially where there is no swift action to correct a fault in the system, it could upset several aspects of the business at hand. A breakdown or the slowing down of internet connection can be singled out as an issue that requires swift timely action. In such an occurrence, informed decision making is necessary, an undertaking that influences the tasks and efforts invoked to solve the issue. In such a case, although swift action is necessary, the manner in which such actions are invoked and the timing is highly crucial. The personal stand on the above issue, is hence, not only directly dealing with the problem but also considering other peripheral matters that could influence the solutions implemented to a large extent (Xu & Quaddus, 2010). In taking a look at Amazon, one of the biggest virtual business today, the above issue has at times greatly affected the user experience. Although several solutions have been offered by the company, most of them are redirected on the users on how to act instead of the company largely finding ways to act on its own without the user having to go through the trouble of trying to fix the issue themselves.
Amazon, in a bid to help its users to have the best user experience has in many occasions published articles to help their customers to deal with such issues. One of the problems experienced in using amazon’s products is video streaming, a factor that even with the fastest internet connection possible, in some cases have had interrupted viewing sessions. One of the reasons outlined to cause the above issue is server outages. On several occasions, however, users have been advised to check issues such as their Wi-Fi connection, a solution that in other occurrences did not yield any fruits. Broberg, Buyya & Tari (2009) assert the importance of the geographical distribution of Content delivery networks to ensure content accessibility by users of a certain site. Although Amazon has tried to utilize cloud computing in its operation, efforts in securing excellent cloud computing services to minimize service outages should be improved.

Although connectivity issues experienced by Amazon are in some cases not foreseen, swift actions that would help customers to deal with such unforeseen inconveniences have not been employed to a large extent. On February 28th this year, for example, an outage that affected the services by the site for about two hours or more was experienced. Amazon, to a large extent, stores its data on AWS servers (Mathew, S., & Varia, J. (2014). The disruption of services due to any infrastructure issues by the above providers is eminently faced by Amazon itself as well as other users each time AWS faces any challenge. Perhaps Amazon should drift from trying to provide short-term solutions to its users such as that of checking their internet connection whenever they experience problems on the site. Although this is the most likely first measure to take when a connection fails while accessing content on the website, the company should be on the forefront in ensuring that they take responsibility on their side to ensure minimal disruption. In the case of unforeseen problems, the company should come up with a backup solution. It should also try to inform its customers of the technical problems that are eminent from the service providers (Armbrust et al. , 2009).
Amazon is not only a consumer of its web based services, it is also a provider. It does mean that a technical hitch on their side effects thousands of business, especially those who depend on it. Amazon S3 and EC2, for example, are Amazon's web services providers whose technical issues have caused internet connection issues for different users in several occasions. Often the above problem, an aspect that has been recurrent has inconvenienced many users. The company's response should hence be put on a check to ensure permanent solutions on the issue at hand.
In conclusion, although internet connectivity is a challenge that is experienced by different business users as well as providers from time to time, amazon’s ways of dealing with such issues leave room for much more improvement. Other than offering usual advice on the users to ensure their internet connection is stable, it is necessary for the company to ensure excellent cloud computing services are implemented in their infrastructure as well as ensure that they are upfront in information provision to its customers in the case that an unforeseen problem develops.
