American and French Revolutions

The American and French revolutions differed in various ways. The French revolution took place within the country, threatening French monarchy while the American Revolution occured in a colony away from its ruling place. American Revolution was directed towards gaining freedom while the French revolution was looking to change the way governance was carried out. Both nations faced the issue of taxation with the American being after representation on the taxation system while the French peasants fought due to over-taxation and had to survive. In France, the revolution was fought by the poor and the rich separately while Americans stood with each other. 

The conquest of Napoleon was largely supported by nationalism, the new idea that dominated Europe in the 1800s and later contributed to colonization. The defeat of Napoleon was followed with the creation of borders in Europe with more stability in power. The wars with Portugal and Spain resulted in disruption of power, disrupting the management of colonies and making most of the American countries independent. Napoleon was also responsible for selling the Louisiana Territory to the United States, and that contributed to the power America gained. 

As a sugarcane farmer in the French revolution, I am disappointed in the way the nation is being ruled. The political leaders only care about their welfare, forgetting the civilians, and the constant wars disrupt economic and social activities. The political leaders are overtaxing the sugarcane, leading to peanuts, not even enough to pay the employees or production. The economic situation is also disappointing since there is no market for the sugarcane and most of it an end up to waste, leading to loses. I feel that the government should consider their taxation system and be lenient to the sugarcane farmers since their products contribute a lot to the economy. Changing the heavy taxes will benefit the entire French nation, and reducing starving of the common citizens.
