Introduction

There is a more significant division of Democrats and Republicans along the lines of ideology. The antipathy of partisan has more extensiveness and depth than any other point in the past two decades. The trends' manifestations occur in the daily lives of Americans and politics. According to a recent survey, the divisions are more significant among the most active and engaged individuals in the process of politics.

Factors That Help to Explain Trends in Political Polarization in The Past Decade

Among the factors that explain political polarization trends are the changing actions of the government and social conditions, which help prompt disagreements that are fundamental concerning the actions that the government ought to take. Second, the current polarization result from the current issues and the past realignment of politics (Abramowitz, Alan & Jennifer, 2019, p.140). Moreover, liberals offer more support to different programs to help people. For example, liberals offer support concerning the expansion of social programs' array to provide disability benefits.

How Economic Inequality Has Changed in Recent Decades

About ten years past the 2009 excellent recession end, the economy of the U.S is good on many fronts. However, not all indicators of the economy are promising (Lisa, 2014, p. 348). For example, households' incomes had modest growth in the century, and there is no significant return of household wealth to its level of pre-recession. There is also a continuance widening of the economic inequality (Lee, Taeku & Christian, 2020, p.998). The continuance occurs regardless of whether its measurement occurs through the gaps in wealth and income between the households, which are poor and more prosperous.

Conclusion

Economic inequality tends to decrease inequality of politics through several mechanisms; first, it leads to an increase of the rich' resources as they relate to the poor. In my opinion, economic inequality also widens policy preferences' gap across certain groups of income. Besides, economic inequality depresses the democratic support that people have.
