Each kind of play demands thorough preparations for its success. Therefore my play began with a script from one of the William Shakespeare’s poem “Merchant of Venice”. Some of the preparations I made for the play include gathering my thoughts and my crew ( Brown & Shakespeare, 1959) . Here, after making a choice on the type of a script, I ensured that I bought all necessary legal rights and also looked for the appropriate venue. The next step was to rehearse for the play and finally, I staged for the show.
The poem by William Shakespeare inspires the young generation especially on issues related to business and trade. The play creates a conducive atmosphere for upcoming artists who would wish to make it to greater heights through writing and performing outstanding plays in the world. Some of the things that I found to be enjoyable in this play include the story itself: Since the play is more attractive, it will draw my audience attraction deeper ( Brown & Shakespeare, 1959) . Besides, many audiences get glued to a brilliant story regardless of who plays it. Other important factors that make the play enjoyable is the settings of the play, casts, humor and even the play’s connection to the audience ( Prensky, 2001) . When I was performing the play, I experienced emotions like enthusiasm and sentimentalism.

The important concept I learned from the play is the ability to keep on trying without losing hope despite how difficult the situation might be. In my play, I underwent several challenges of organizing my crew with continuous rehearsals until the time I became ready for performing the play. What made the preparations difficult was basically lack of enough funds to facilitate the process. The idea brought about by Shakespeare in his poem is relevant in that we can apply it to our daily life through when it comes to issues related to shylock and trade ( Brown & Shakespeare, 1959) . The idea of banking and loaning has been derived from this poem. In the past, there were no banks for loaning merchants and it was done by shylocks but today the idea has been modified and banks have been created to loan people money.
