Social psychology is a broad area of learning in psychology in addition to being a field in which various concepts of psychology can be integrated into the society. The integration of social psychology in criminal investigations is one such area where the detectives try to find perpetrators of crimes by interviewing eyewitnesses. The interrogations results are usually biased since the witnesses are likely to give evidence based on their personal perspectives and outlooks. Justice for the perpetrators and that of victims may never be achieved the way things are at the moment where juries only rely on witness accounts. This is so because most witnesses give their accounts for the wrong motives and under wrong conditions which could be straining to them. Besides, once the suspected criminals are apprehended, the officers drill information out of them in harsh ways that some are forced to admit to crimes they have not committed. So as to end this, there is need for investigating officers to come up psychologically- oriented ways of investigating crimes that will eliminate bias against some societies and individuals.
