Applied behavioral analysis (ABA) is a discipline which utilizes the principles of analysis of behavior to steadily improve socially important conduct and experimentation is utilized in outlining factors affecting behavior change. There are six elements that characterize ABA and they include; it is guided by scientific values and techniques of inquiry, progress is determined put in action systematically. It is inclined towards a socially important behavior, focuses on evocative change in significant behavior and considers factors needed for improvement. 

The purpose of ABA services is to improve specific behaviors of children and adults having to enable them live meaningful lives based on the set standards. The services are also used to improve language and the way people communicate. For instance children with autistic disorders find challenge in communicating and therefore ABA services can be used to help them improve. The services can also be used in helping people with attention difficulties, memory problems, focusing issues and those with social skill intricacies. The services have also been used to help people in decreasing problematic behaviors for instance a student who is constantly rebellious in school.

The Professional Philosophy and Values as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst are important in the provision of services and it entails relying on scientific information to make professional judgments. Another value is that they need to observe boundaries of competence and these are their areas of training, experience and education. ABA analysts are also obliged to maintain integrity by being saying the truth and being honest in order to impart the same values in others. They should also not use fraudulent or illegal activities in the course of duty. Another philosophy is the observance of qualified and scientific relationships in the course of duty. Another value is that they need to avoid multiple relationships which might bring conflict of interests 

Michigan do not give specific license for a behavioral analyst instead it uses the public health policy act 368 which explains that all behavioral analysts should obtain psychology licenses under the existing laws in this category which include; one must have doctoral degree in psychology, must have completed an internship program and completed a period of monitored internship. Similarly, they should excel in standard national tests in psychological. Finally, they should submit an application for a license with the state board of psychology.
