Philanthropists and foundations that share passions partner up to fulfill them. My organization is implementing a socially responsible project of educating the society on the benefits of waste management and recycle. As such, a foundation that we share the same passions has offered to fund the project. The funds are going to take the initiative a long way in its implementation. For instance, the money will be used in advertisements of the project, purchasing fliers, banners and training of my organization's staff members who will implement the project.

Challenges such as team working, team decision making, communication between my organization and the foundation will emanate in the course of implementing this initiative. To deal with these challenges, I would like to merge my staff members with those of the other foundation in the training process so that they will form a rapport in working together (McShane & Von, 2013). Equally, they will choose their team leaders democratically on their own rather than be imposing team leaders on them. As a result, the participants will have the good understanding of their team leaders and amongst themselves. Also, communication will be smooth as members of each team have a close relation with their team leader.

Corporate goal setting and rewards are one way that is used to empower subordinates and other employees in various organizations. Generally, goal setting empowers subordinates’ performance by magnifying the concentration as well as persistence of their efforts and giving the subordinates clearer role awareness so that their efforts are headed for behaviors that will advance work performance (McShane & Von, 2013). For instance, I will have specific goals for the organization. This will ensure that the subordinates channel all their efforts to these goals rather than doing their best on what they have no clue to achieve. Also by having relevant goals that are also relevant to the subordinates work will empower my subordinates. This is because they are controlled by these relevant goals thus maximize their efforts on them. Rewards also empower the employees to perform better in their various jobs. Rewarding my subordinates based on their achievement will not only empower them but also take the organization to great levels. Rewards could be through training the subordinates on new skills and more responsibilities in the organization.

In implementing this project, I would use job specialization with my subordinates. Job specialization will be the best because each subordinate will have a specific role hence will devote his or her efforts on that specific role that he or she has specialized. This will increase productivity since my subordinates will accomplish their tasks quickly, efficiently and of high quality. I would also implement job specialization policy because it will reduce the need for regular and continued training of my subordinates as they implement the initiative (McShane & Von, 2013).

Self-leadership largely entails persuading oneself to establish the self-direction and self-motivation required to execute a task. Often leaders and managers endeavor to ensure their employees to head for self-leadership whereas the subordinates should employ these techniques enthusiastically and with rationale. I would use various approaches to implementing self-leadership techniques. Firstly, I would use the personal goal setting technique. I would allow my subordinates to create and set their own goals and then derive a set from them through consultations with them. Secondly, I will encourage myself and my subordinates to devise natural rewards (McShane & Von, 2013). Integrating natural rewards into my routine permits new ways for the work to become more motivating. For instance by altering the manner in which a task gets accomplished. Finally, I would integrate self-monitoring techniques (McShane & Von, 2013).It would not only be setting goals but also tracking my progress. This, in particular, I would look for naturally occurring feedback as well as design artificial feedback.

In summary, I have looked at how I would implement my organization’s project, its challenges and how I would handle and solve the challenges. Also, I have discussed how I would empower my subordinates, whether to implement job specialization policy in the implementation or not and finally looked at how I would specifically implement self-leadership techniques. In general, the full implementation of the project to the society would ensure a clean and a healthy environment for the natives. Thus, this project was able to attract support from another foundation that shares the passion of a healthy environment.
