The Synectics method is an essential tool for innovation and creative projects. It is described as a strategy for decision making because it is used to support creative thinking and has the objective of bringing together various aspects for the success of the project. Modern scientists claim the method which involves 21 steps might be used in brainstorming and critically analyzing an innovative project. The method can also be used to develop the ideas and overcome any challenges that may hinder its success.
According to synectics world the method has been developed after decades of research on work groups and individual innovation projects. Furthermore, the method can be used t help workgroup members develop creative responses during problem solving acquire and retain information or to explore problems (Invention Labs & Workshops | Synecticsworld, n.d.). This paper will describe the application of the 21 synectics in designing of a new computer.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
Subtracting, Omitting Or Taking Away
The new computer that I wish to design will be used by young kids below 10 years for education purposes. Therefore the new computer will be simple in design and its features. It will not involve complicated language or applications.
Repeat, Echoing Restating Or Duplicating
The duplication will be achieved by producing multiple copies to suit various fields. For instance the new computers will be sold in different regions like Africa, Asia, Europe and America. The computers to be distributed in Asia will be coded to support local languages like Hindu, Chinese and Japanese. The computers will be duplicated and multiplied to reach the market demand.
Combining And Ideas Of Connecting It
The new computer will be designed in such a way that it can be connected to projectors and can accommodate USB connection. This will help in adding information to it and displaying data to the audience.
Addition, Expansion Or Augmentation
The new computer can be expanded by increasing its internal storage space or installing a longer lasting battery.
Transfer, Relocation And Dislocation
Transfer will be possible by designing components that can be detached and fixed on another computer. For instance it can be designed in such a way the storage unit can be removed and fixed on another device.
Animation And Mobilizing
The new children’s computer will be made in way it will support animated educational programs. It will be a portable device that can be carried around with ease.
Empathizing And Relation To It
As a designer I will relate to it in that t is simple to use and I can use it for educational purposes form the comfort of my desk. The new computer will also have the capability of being used in simple research and making documents and presentations.
Superimposing And Creating A New It Or Overlaying
The new computer model will have such features that it can be mounted on a desk and be used as personal computer with a keyboard, and desktop. It will also have the capability of creating its new form by detaching the parts and make it be used as a tablet.
Substituting Switching With It
The new computer can be switched with a laptop or a tablet device.
Change Scale- Changing The Size
Detaching it and using it as a tablet will be a way of changing its scale. It will make it smaller and suitable for the young kids.
Fragment- Split It Up
Detaching its components- the keyboard, stand, and monitor screen will be equivalent to splitting it. This will allow it to be used as a tablet. Further fragmentation will be achieved by dividing the storage space (Laudon, & Laudon, 2016).
Isolate – Cropping Or Focusing It
Focusing it will be achieved by having a high resolution screen/monitor
Distort, Misshaping It
Misshaping it can be done be breaking it down and assembling it as a desktop computer for use in school work. This could involve adding a CPU unit to the design.
Contradict, Using Reversal To Change It
Its reversal can be assembled in such a way that it is designed to support all school work. Then it will be used in school offices, learning and entertainment.
Disguising Or Changing It To Another Mask Or Frame
Making the frame will involve detaching it to take the form of a tablet or personal computer.
Parody- Making It Fun
It would be used for sun in playing games and videos as a source of entertainment for the young kids.
Prevaricate- Presenting It As Something Different
The computer will be designed to appear as both a pc and a tablet for young learners.
Metamorphoses- Changing It Color, Size And Foundation
Changing it will be possible ad the outer body can be changed in terms of outlook and color. Changing its design will be a privilege of the designer and will remain a secret to me.
Hybridize- How I Can Cross It With Other Things
I will design it in such a way that I can use it in video conferencing and connect it with a projector.
Mythologize How I Can Transform It To An Iconic Figure (Laudon, & Laudon, 2016).
I would transform it to something iconic by making it support the entire curriculum for elementary school. I would design it to be used for teaching and examining the children.
Fantasize, Developing It To Supersized Design
I would settle on making it go beyond current innovations rather than making it supersized which would scare away young learners. I would use innovation to have it be added with innovations to support recording and demonstrated lessons.
