1.

Leaving a classroom unattended or without a student in charge is a violation of a teacher’s duty in school. In the event that they leave students without proper supervision, they go against their responsibility in their line of work. Such an action goes against the standard of professional conduct which strictly emphasizes on supervision of students. Discipline of students is also a key aspect here because, without command, some cases may arise in the classroom.

2.

In this case, the possible ethical violation may be associated with a variety of actions including abuse, harassment, and many others. The abused standard would then be conduct with students, which emphasizes unprofessional conduct from teachers towards their students. By speaking to a child alone in a class or any other private area, teachers expose themselves to the aforementioned risks which in some cases may be false. It would be very difficult to defend themselves from such charges because there are no witnesses available.

3.

Issues to do with phone numbers violate the conduct of teachers to students regarding relationships outside the school. There should be a clear boundary between a teacher and a student. Communication via personal phone numbers would, therefore, be unacceptable. The standard violated here is conduct with students which strictly forbids this kind of interaction between teachers and their students.

4.

Driving a student home may be viewed as an ethical violation in terms of sexual abuse. A teacher may be mistaken as a sexual predator when he or she is seen driving home with a student. The standard violated here is still conduct with students. It is sometimes better to avoid offering such kind of help because some students may not have the best interest for a teacher. They may, therefore, use this opportunity to bring one’s career to the gutters by falsely accusing them.

5.

Using force against a student may bring both physical and emotional injury to them irrespective of the reason to do so. Whenever a teacher decides to take this course of action, they put their professions at risk because they violate the acceptable code of conduct at the workplace. The standard that is associated to conduct with students is violated in such cases and a teacher may lose their jobs if they bring harm to a child. It is advisable to avoid using force in such scenarios unless it is absolutely necessary.

6.

By changing a child’s underwear or diaper, teachers subject themselves to sexual offense to the young ones. Some may view this as unethical because the teacher would be doing something that does not fall within their jurisdiction of duties. Something that personal and private is not supposed to be done unless other adults are present and with consent from the parent. Here, conduct with students still acts as the standard that is violated.

7.

Corporal punishment is a controversial issue because some support it whereas others do not. It is very critical for a teacher to avoid using this form of discipline because it may bring physical harm to a child. No matter how bad a child’s action is, this type of punishment should not be used. The standard on professional conduct strictly warns teachers against inappropriate discipline when dealing with students.

8.

Strip search is a violation of a child’s right to privacy because it exposes them to harassment by the one who is doing it. It is considered a sexual offense because in some cases, inappropriate touching may be involved. Teachers are therefore advised not to do so because it goes against the standard of conduct with students.

9.

Tutoring a student for compensation may be regarded as a greedy act especially in cases where there is no approval from superiors. The standard of remunerative conduct is very clear on teachers receiving money from parents or students. Such an act is considered unethical and unprofessional, especially if it is done without the consent of the principal or administrator.

10.

Teachers who fail to account for funds allocated for school activities are considered to be engaging in fraudulent practices. They exhibit a lack of trust, responsibility, honesty, and accuracy. By doing so, they go against public funds and property standard. Teachers must ensure that they submit accurate records of such activities for transparency.

11.

Teachers who have relationships with students violate the ethics of professionalism which can be termed as a very big offense in the legal system. There should be no kind of affiliation between a teacher and a student unless it is professional. Moreover, educators should never make such advances and should also decline students who may want to be in a relationship with them. Dating a student violates the standard of professional conduct which requires teachers to demonstrate moral and upright behavior in school and outside the school as well.

12.

Whenever a teacher fails to report what happens in the class, they violate the ethical standard of reporting in their profession. Instances that may bring controversy may arise and as such, documenting such will be very important. Anything that may seem to cause misunderstandings should also be recorded and reported so that one does not land on the wrong side as a result of misunderstandings.

13.

Teachers must be aware that their role to students is only as an educator and as such, they should never try to take on the role of a parent at any time. This will violate the standard of professional conduct at the workplace and will demonstrate misplaced roles of a teacher. It is always good for teachers to stick to their own lanes because some children and parents may consider this as inappropriate.

14.

Cases of child abuse may sometimes arise in school and as a teacher, one is expected to report them to the relevant authority. Failing to do so shows lack of transparency and professionalism as an educator. Teachers who don’t do so, therefore, violate the standard of required reporting because they do not communicate such cases to their principals. Failing to take such action is therefore considered as negligence, which demonstrates ineptitude in an educator.
