I have chosen assistive technologies for children that suffer from auditory processing disorders. While there could be other technologies to choose from, the one that helps children with auditory processing disorders is the most appealing to my experience. Specifically, it was not a difficult choice since I once visited a classroom in which the teacher was struggling interpreting words that had closer sounds to students. As much as this experience is typical in the classroom, I learned that the teacher took so much time in this process that she did not cover enough content for the lesson. Since then, I have been thinking of the best way of helping students with such difficulties undertake their learning as efficiently as the rest who do not have such problems.
I am mostly interested in the personal listening and noise-canceling headphones. The personal listening devices could be an efficient way of improving the levels of attention of the learners with the problem since most I observed that most of the students with such problems had issues with concentrating and listening to what the teacher was saying. The noise reduction headphones could be a useful device in ensuring that the students that use the assistive technologies do not be confused by the disruptions of others in the classroom.

I have never used assistive technologies apart from the grammar checkers and word predictors, which is why the new technology that I am learning to use will be an experience worth remembering. The process would be useful in teaching me the usefulness of techniques in improving the skills of learners, especially in ensuring that each child has an equal chance of learning.
