Students should complement their class academic preparations with other practical experience, for them to achieve their future career goals. Those planning to join permanent workforce must possess the necessary expertise to do the job. For example, in the field of athletics, an athletic director should acquire the experience from, participating in athletics and internship, in sport-related activities. An internship helps an individual to learn and gain the necessary experience in a setting supervised and guided by the work-place professional, hence, one has the opportunity to achieve own career goals (Hardin, Cooper & Huffman, 2013). Also, athletic director internship offers a chance to work with the best mentors not only in the internship period, but even after the internship. An intern learns the whole career field and decides whether it is the right career, and also does a thorough study of the workplace and see, if it matches his career expectations. Athletic director internship provided an opportunity to learn new skills that increases confidence in future career goals (Gilbert, 2011). 

Critical Thinking Skills to Solve Problems 

Everyone experience problems from time to time. Some challenges are big and complex hence they require critical thinking skills to solve, while others are minor and hence easily solved. Having the critical thinking skills solves problems and help individuals realize their career goals. For example, in the athletic game such as lacrosse, baseball, and wrestling it is difficult to field a team. This is due to higher standards set for entry and the high cost of equipment. It is important to partner with youth league to first identify, train, and develop potential lacrosse, baseball, and wrestling athlete for high school program. Also, the connection between students and teachers develop interest and introduce athletics that may be new to them (Gilbert, 2011).

Challenges 

All athletics activities operate with an annual budget. Without any alternative sources of the fund such as community groups or an athletic boosters club, it is difficult to maintain and renovate athletics facilities. The limited athletic budget goes to daily operating cost; hence, little is left to take care of athletics facilities. A few parents volunteer to maintain the field and athletic facilities. Another challenge is finding and keeping coaches for some athletic games. Lack of interested athletes and their transportation issues are the primary reasons for coaches to move on to other attractive position. To counter this challenge, transparency during hiring increase chances for an ideal candidate. 

No, Amy Hawkins provides the good working environment. There are coordination and cooperation which helps to solve any arising problem in the athletics department. 

Internship Goals 

One goal is to address the troubling issue of hazing. It is a concern among coaches, athletes, and also school management. It is an unacceptable behavior which destroys the working relationship between the coaches, athlete, and school management. Finally, the athletic department formation offers a good working relationship between coaches and students. This division creates athletes’ information intern and student athletic leadership council. 

Conclusion 

Employer offers internship opportunities to the potential employees. It offers the student a period to put into practice what they have learned in class. An internship allows the students to experience how their studies are applied in their respective fields. It helps students to accomplish both long-term and short-term goals.
