The COVID-19 pandemic brought a lot of changes worldwide and one of the areas greatly impacted is the education sector. The adoption of a new delivery method of teaching and distant learning has taken a toll on most students as well as teachers (Irawan et al., 2020). Whereas some students thrive through online learning others find it distressing due to isolation, overwhelming workloads, anxiety, burnout and lack of practicality in learning. Theoretical learning has become the way of teaching unlike the practical sessions which would enforce on the knowledge taught in class. I developed the study topic ‘Online Learning Increases Psychological Distress in Students’ to address the problems faced with distant learning and its impacts on students.
The major challenges I encountered in creating the problem section is the variability of experience by different students and teachers. Distance learning is a new concept, some have well adapted into this new mode of education while others are still trying to adjust into the system (Irawan et al., 2020). Also unavailability of data and information concerning the same has been a challenge. The COVID pandemic and the effects it brought especially in the education sector is still a new concept and therefore there is not much information or enough data and study about it (Mohmmed et al., 2020). Social distancing and isolation also is a problem when it comes to collecting data and information from candidates defined in the population of study. Information on the topic obtained therefore may be prone to bias.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
Additional information that I require to improve this section is the critical need for the education sector to develop a mission to support the mental health requirements of both students and moderators due to the impacts of distance learning. The isolation, loneliness, anxiety and depression that resulted as a result of the pandemic will also be a vital concept in developing my problem section (Robb et al., 2020). I will also focus on the effects of light on sight and ophthalmologists recommendations on screen time and light adjustment.
