"I have solid, well-considered ethical beliefs that can be altered only by reasoned arguments or new evidence." I agree with the statement concerning business ethics. Business people are usually guided by certain beliefs which support the success of their operations. However, when new evidence or reasoned arguments are presented, the older ethical beliefs can be changed. The new evidence has to present strong points worth support. Introduction of a better strategy that can be used in business to support the success of the operations, for example, with evidence on how it will be done, resulting is abandoning the old strategy and adopting the new. The previous operations usually determine the solid, well-considered ethical beliefs. It is an indication that they can be altered any time something better is discovered.
I do not agree with “I have character and integrity that will carry me through when I face difficult moral choices” statement. The world is made of tempting choices, and it is what creates a difference between good and bad people. When a person is offered a better paying job, they will immediately abandon the former employer and even leave some projects incomplete. Greed for money and power makes people forget about the integrity and character that should be guiding them (Prentice, 2018). They will call the opportunity a lifetime chance, ignoring the previous agreement with the other employer. When facing hard moral choices, one will consider what suits them best, forgetting the harm they may cause to other individuals. People will always compromise their character and integrity because of the business laws they are required to follow, especially when the laws are parallel to the individual beliefs.
