Every modern warehouse makes use of a management system or software to automate their operations. This is necessary in order to make work easier for the staff who must perform redundant tasks. The aim of such systems is to make the occurrence of errors less common and to ensure that record keeping is more accurate. Management systems come with their fare share of challenges in addittion to benefits.

The current management system is relatively easy to install. It has clear cut instructions that are easy to understand and follow. This makes it easy for a a supervisor or any person in authority to install and manage it. It is also relatively easy to manage and run as it takes a short time to get accustomed to it. The users are trained in the specific sections or parts of the system that are relevant to their job description. This ensures that each employee has direct responsibilities that concur with their expected roles. The system has logins at every level which trace the actions of every staff member. The activities are also time stamped to ensure that everything is well documented.

One of the most efficient functions that the system possesses is a reporting option. Some activities are flagged to be report to the leadership immediately they occur. An example is the attempt for an employee to access interdepartmental information. This may be immediately reported to the leader in charge of this operation. Additionally, subordinates may not access the information that is limited to the access of their superiors. This make it possible to limit the spread of information to the wrong recipients. The management system is also relatively user friendly. It is easy to use as its prompts are programmed to mimic the direct actions of the institutions. This guides new employees who may be conversant with the operations. It also reduces the possibility of an error.

The most convenient aspect of this system is that it is accessible from a mobile device. Most of the employees access it from hand held devices such as tablets. The worker is therefore able to keep up with their duties remotely. Issues include filing reports, making orders, tracking orders and dispatch progress among many other activities. The system eliminates the chance of duplicated roles that may be more frequent in non automated systems. The company also saves time and money when the staff do not need to meet to update each other on overlapping roles. Examples are sale teams which may need to keep stock of movement of inventory. There may also be challenges in over promising clients while the warehouse is under capacity. Although the system is installed in computer based gadgets that are used within the organization, the system is available online. It allows for saving of data in the cloud. It also integrates with other useful systems such as quick books.

The administration are lax about training employees on using the system. This is because the system training was mainly done in entirety during its inception. Subsequent people who have joined various departments are driven limited training as is relevant to their job description. The most subordinate staff that join the organisation at entry level only interact with the system during time stamps for billing purposes. The staff do not have a chance to advance deeper into the system as long as they do not rise in rank. In conclusion, training is done through a PowerPoint presentation that lets the trainee follow the instructions during training. The main limitation of the system is the time it takes to recover after after downtime.
