Planning, controlling, and organizing activities are important because when they are sufficiently implemented, they will help to improve customer satisfaction and employee motivation. Planning strategies will specifically focus on the decentralized decision-making system hence encouraging employees to take part in the organizational activities. 

Introduction 

The project management function of a newly built Best Western hotel business comprises of the primary functions including planning, organizing, controlling, and leading. When these management processes are effectively adopted and implemented, it will contribute towards the success of a Western hotel ( Best Western , 2017). The management functions will ensure that the hotel works towards the achievement of a common goal and set objective. It is clear that Western hotel reputation is associated with a greater level of innovation and a strong customer relationship that will be maintained through these management functions. Planning function will help Western hotel to create the company’s objectives while the controlling function will contribute to measure and monitor the hotel’s resources. Organizing function, on the other hand, will help in creating a healthy harmonious human resource while the leading function will play a critical role in organizing all the activities to acquire an efficient outcome. All these functions of management are essential since they will influence the competitiveness and overall performance of the newly built Best Western hotel.

Planning 

The planning function makes sure that Western hotel identifies and selects the most appropriate goals and critical measures that will help to achieve the set objectives. The best Western hotel will consider this as one of the principal management function since it makes sure that the hotel share and work towards the common goals. The hotel management will benefit from such functions by making sure that resources that are available are utilized efficiently towards the achievement of the established goals. It is clear that planning is critical in developing strategies to sufficiently implement the decision made concerning the organizational goals which the new Western hotel wishes to pursue. To achieve their mission and vision, a Best Western hotel will carefully plan critical actions to be undertaken and try to maximize the resources available ( Best Western , 2017). 

Organizing 

Organizing entails the process of establishing the organizational Best Western hotel structure. The prominence under organizing will be chiefly on the distribution, harmonization and even control of the activities and data within the hotel. The managers of the hotel will depend on organizing to delegate power to the company’s staffs. It would be substantial for Best Western hotel organizational structure acknowledges that the customers and workers are vital assets to the company. The Best Western hotel will be required to build a successful corporate culture that will help improve staff’s motivation and creativity ( Best Western , 2017). The organization of operations at the Best Western hotel will promote empowerment and delegation in the franchise which will contribute to enhancing their competitive advantage. It is important to adopt a collaborative management strategy to ensure that the retail center of the franchise is located in a region where they will operate smoothly and collaboratively. It would be important that Best Western hotel organizational structure should be enhanced through the existence of the common company name which will help acquire consistent quality standards across all the departments. It would be critical to ensure that the strategic plans and the organizational culture are monitored to make sure that they help the Best Western hotel to meet their established goals. 

Leading 

The leading function will contribute towards the achievement of the organizational objectives and goals. In this function, the management will formulate a clear vision and at the same time empower the corporate culture to make sure that each stakeholder understands how an individual role will contribute towards the achievement of the Best Western hotel objectives. The Best Western hotel will have to utilize persuasion, power, influence and the communication strategies to efficiently implement this core function. Therefore, the main activities within this function at a Best Western hotel will include employee behavior coordination to make sure that all the activities are in line and the maintenance of the coordination of staff motivation and commitment ( Best Western , 2017). Best Western hotel management will improve coordination and motivation by encouraging the workers to work in groups and at the same time organizes events that will help facilitate employee interaction in various centers. Both marketing and accounting will have to be stored online to facilitate the assessment and correction by the Best Western hotel manager. 

Controlling 

Controlling specifically entails monitoring activities of the employees to determine whether objectives in place are being achieved. Controlling at a Western hotel will have to be maintained through diverse activities that are aimed at ensuring that staffs are motivated and that all organizational policies are clear. Further, it entails correcting any form of deviation present from moving to worse. Best Western hotel management will have to apply their technical skills to motivate the staffs and offer leadership in resource allocation. The management will evaluate the performance of the business operation and then take possible corrective measures that would be necessary. The primary aim is to make sure that business operation conforms to set an organizational standard. It is imperative to note that an effective control system ought to be able to detect potential deviation before even it takes place. The Best Western hotel will have to monitor their operations carefully and then evaluate their performance against the company’s target. The management will have to set goals that will help to guide their process at all levels. ( Best Western , 2017). 

Auditing will further be critical and should regularly be conducted to make sure that Western hotel moves in the right direction. Any form of deviation from the established standard will be adjusted using a suitable corrective measure. The management should ensure that everything aligns with all the Best Western hotel’s policies and practices ( Best Western , 2017). Best Western hotel blue print is also a critical aspect of various factors that will have to be considered and what they ought to do. In addition to this, the evaluation will further ensure that they attain enhanced performance since strategies and activities will frequently be done according to the overall environmental changes. The line manager will be in charge of ensuring that all employees work accordingly to set organizational standards. The control measure when adopted and implemented effectively, the management at a Best Western hotel will be able to create and sustain a positive organization’s brand image through preventing instances of fraud and other ethical malpractices within the hotel. 

Recommendation 

It is recommended that Best Western hotel should put resources together op ensure that they maintain their current policies that revolves around the major elements’ planning, organizing, and controlling but should go further to improve their leading policies. In order to achieve this, they can make the new hotel more independent an aspect that will significantly improve their staff’s capability to develop effective strategies to meet the demand and the needs of their target market. 

Conclusion 

The essay has identified four primary functions of management as part of project management plan including planning, coordinating, organizing, and leading. All these functions will play a major function in the newly built Best Western hotel regarding selecting an appropriate goal, maximize resources available and in the achievement of the set objectives. It will ensure that Best Western hotel management is aware of the organizational goals and ways to accomplish them. It is much easier for a Best Western hotel to make sure that staffs maintain same quality standards since both controlling and organizing management functions tend to focus strictly on building efficient company’s culture. The best Western hotel can further improve their strategies on leading to improve their overall openness. All these functions will ensure that staffs strictly follow the laid down rules and policies that will encourage employee motivation and creativity.
