Introduction 

Religion has become a critical determinant that helps connect people to their past, present, and future. Buddhism and Christianity are examples of such religions. In any case, it is apparent that religion constitutes much of the modern people’s definition of life. 

Thesis statement: Buddhism and Christianity reveal the monolithic and polytheistic concepts that explain how human beings connect with the physical and spiritual worlds. That said, Buddhism, an Eastern religion , believes in reincarnation while Christianity, an Abrahamic religion, holds that people go to heaven or hell after death.

In Buddhism, beliefs on the afterlife are heavily borrowed from Hinduism and these include reincarnation referred to as Samsara and its enlightenment leads to Nirvana. Jainism also believes in reincarnation where one takes varying forms in the cycles of birth, death, and rebirth.

In conclusion, religion is an integral part of humanity, and its prevalence cannot be ignored . Understanding religion is critical to understanding the happenings in the society.
