Throughout the preferred work environment summary exercise, I explained my passion for football. When I was a child, I gained significant interest in football, and I played it from the little academy to the college level. As a way of enhancing my passion for football, I decided to embark on coaching others in the exciting sport. Coaching is essentially my way of giving back to society; I want kids and other people to have the same platform that was bestowed upon me. Also, football and coaching skills help me in raising my daughter and supporting my family. Having a daughter is a great accomplishment in my life, but a time may come that I may not be there to look after her. Making the community a better place by coaching people and kids of her age is a way of making her world a better place. For instance, if at least 95 percent of people are employed or are busy making their end meet, which implies that society has no room for negative externalities. My career will thus ensure the safety and exceptional talent in the future of my daughter’s generation; I aim to see the next Tom Brady in decades to come.
During my coaching moment, I will emphasize a lot on communication, time management, teamwork, critical thinking, and skills. Communication is fundamental since it helps communicate with people on what needs to be done. Also, I take time with utmost importance, and I usually make a schedule so that I can accomplish specific tasks within the stipulated time. In addition, I embrace teamwork, and I intend to work with my colleagues to achieve more than I can alone. Lastly, to enhance my skills, I like thinking outside the box so that I can get a review of an issue or task from different perspectives.

As a footballer and a coach, I embrace and admire the aspect of independence. Being independent helps a person to think globally and act locally at the same time. With the development and growth of the football industry across the globe, I should take personal time as a coach to know how to go about specific skills. Knowing skills helps in training because teaching what you know is easy since you can practice and show the trainees physically instead of training them from a theoretical perspective. Even if I like being independent, having a daughter can be stressful in my line of work. When preparing, she is all over me, and this creates a conflict of interest because she needs my attention, and I want to be alone. However, every person needs to be motivated so as he or she can work for the betterment of the reward. Seeing her gives me the morale to continue working, and I find myself adapting and comprehending information relevant to my career.
Diagnosis
I aspire to coach great American football clubs, and I believe this dream will become a reality. I think that I can achieve everything I set my eyes on, and what I always need is motivation. As a family man, I invest all of me in them because I want them to have a good life. Going to work in the morning and coming back home to my family is my best career and achievement thus far. However, they need to be provided for, and I have to work smart to reach my goal. My family encourages me and looking into my daughter; I know that I should act as an example to her. Due to a good relationship that we have maintained as a family, I believe that I will coach not only any Great American Rivalry series but also the Ney York Giants
Being a head coach of a club like New York Giants requires a person with a succinct career strategy due to the competitive nature of the industry. I cannot formulate my career goals at home because I separate work from family. Therefore, having an office is essential because I will be able to align all my duties and responsibilities that I need to accomplish at a given time. Through the set objectives, I will be principled and accountable to the people because all that is set must be performed, and failure is to me, not to them. For instance, when I get into the office at 7 am, I will handle all the club’s activities and issues, and by three pm, I will leave to practice until 9 pm.
With the twelve hours of working, I will have to formulate short-term and long-term strategies that will help in running the club to greater heights. The short plan must be corresponding to the long term goals. For example, the long term objective is to win the English premier league and to win; training is not enough because if players train and don’t apply skills into the field is for nothing. Due to this, the short term objectives have friendly matches with other clubs to measure our thoroughness and know if we will win the great American rivalry series cup or will lose.
Taking into consideration career exploitation (Greenhaus, Callanan & Godshalk, 2010 ), I believe that short term goals will act as a measure to know if I am fit to coach a bigger football club. After playing friendly matches, if we win, I will analyze the game on the mistake we did, and how we can resolve them as a team and also as a coach and if we lose, I will still analyze the match as to why we lost and what we could have done to win. This kind of analysis will help me polish up and initiate a new skill for players so that at the next match, they can win.
Prescription
Actualizing a dream can be a lifetime effort. In American football, what you know and what you can replicate on the team to win takes the precedent of what one has. What you have can be outdated and cannot help the players to win against the opponents. As a head coach and my inspiration to coach the best American football club, I must evolve to meet the standards of the club. Evolving is not easy because it means that I have to change my characters to fit what is required, but since I have a passion for football and I want to make my daughter’s world a better place, I have to change.
The change I plan to initiate is the aspect of patience. The virtue is a particularly challenging one owing to the existence of external factors that challenges one’s moral system. Today, the workplace and interpersonal engagements have arguably become complicated to the point that the probability of giving up is astonishingly high. Consistency is critical in being patient and has enabled me to maintain and spread it to others. At my local clubs, I usually sacrifice all odds that come along the way and make sure that the ultimate goal is attained. I must make sure that the team I coach achieves the best points and win trophies at its level.
Further, I intend to take new challenges by writing a letter of a proposal requesting a chance to train a big American football club. The project will go hand in hand with my reputation, and I am hopeful I will get an opportunity to help the big boys in training. In my proposal, I will request no money but will ask for a specific period in which I will train the players. Money is not the primary goal that leads to my work to me. Money only acts as a security that I have with the client to enhance our working relationship. After the tutorial or probation time erupts and the players implement what I have taught them in the ground, I am sure that they will win. With my surety and if they win, I am going to ask for a permanent position within the club because I will be an excellent resource for the team. Having a permanent position means that I will be paid, and money will come as a significant motivation to push me to do more.
Once I get a permanent position within the club, I will sign a contract for probably five years. The deal will act as my job security within five years, and if I am to be fired, I must be compensated for the remaining years. Having job security helps because the notion of hopping from one club to another is limited. The limitation is significant because the reputation will remain, and the probability of being invited for another job in another club or even signing another contract is high. Also, to ensure that I work efficiently and effectively, I must embrace and understand the aspect of teamwork. I believe that oneness can make people move a mountain because they have a common faith, and they speak in one language of winning. Furthermore, as one, I will make everybody feels like they own the entity and have a voice in what needs to be done or should be done. Through brainstorming and creating a culture of the ideal within the club will make a good relationship with players and other coaches, and in return, the outcome will be evident in the field.
Subsequently, many dynamics happen in a field, and players can lose to another team by several points. Losing is part of motivation because next time, the team will want to revenge and make a thrashing performance. Also, losing can be stressful and, if not handled well, can cause a person to make emotional decisions that can destroy the reputation of the club and oneself. Thus, for me, I try to understand every situation and see it as an opportunity to explore so that next time I can do better.
Conclusion
The self-assessment exercise was vital because it has opened my mind in a broad way about what I need to do to achieve my dreams. Everybody can dream, but it takes some bold moves and tremendous efforts to actualize one’s vision. The knowledge of the next step will go a long way to helping make my dreams a reality. Effective techniques such as the SMART goals necessitates having a SMART plan that will be a guide in the journey. In essence, the approach is a map that helps one assess where he or she is heading and a reminder of the critical countermeasures against obstacles along the way.
