The paper analyzes the case study of an old Caucasian woman who was 30-years old with no children but only lived alone together with her husband. Robin Henderson is her name, and she was living in a middle-class urban area. She has been hospitalized severally on various accounts which are estimated to be ten times where one of them saw her in hospital for six months. The suicidal attempts are significant contributors to her hospitalization. Her case is very complicated, and it is suspected to be because of the past experiences that she encountered in her life, particularly the one about childhood sexual abuse (Thornicroft et al., 2017). This unforgettable moment is the one that made her result in alcohol abuse, which made her drop out of medical school since she could not study well. The purpose of this study is to provide the diagnosis for her condition and treatment method that will suit her case.
The most probable diagnosis for Robin Henderson is suspected to be Major Depressive Disorder. The reasons for this diagnosis are the past as well as the present history that has taken place in her life. For starter, it has been clear that she has been treated severally with primarily anti-depressant medication for not less than 18 months by her psychiatrist. It is also the during this time that she was also hospitalized because of suicidal attempts that include almost ten occasions of drinking Clorox bleach and many other dangerous events (Cipriani et al., 2018). Her drinking addiction and the engagement in restricted food intake were all her attempts of killing herself. The fact that she also dropped out of medical school made her more depressed and hence engaging in suicidal attempts. It was also evident that she had developed the sense of worthlessness even during the treatment period where she claimed that nobody loved her, including her husband, but none of that was confirmed right. The diagnosis has been laid out after the consideration of all these factors which the main criteria that are met for the diagnosis of Major Depressive Disorder.

The best treatment for her would be for her to accept her condition and face reality. Therefore the therapists in charge of her case should perform an approach that has humanistic and existential treatment. For starter, Robin is not aware of the fact as to why her husband wants to leave her. She is also not aware of her worth as a person. Heaving this in mind, she needs to be taught how to accept her weaknesses as well as the problems that surround her and find her strength. The Therapists needs to help her in finding satisfying personal values as well as her worthiness as a woman to live by. Therefore, what she needs is to open her eyes to reality and bring her true feelings into life and see what is making her life more difficult (Torous et al 2015). If the doctors helped her in achieving all these facts, Robin would be able to come into facts as to why she wants to kill herself and also find out the reasons as to why her husband does not love her anymore. The Humanistic approach will play a big deal in helping her get back to her track, especially in completing her medical course that she had dropped out earlier. The humanistic approach will also help her to recognize her worth when she is treated with love and care since it was what she lacked before. Therefore, she only requires personal and warm support from those around her for her to develop a personal love.
